As I have written before, “As goes the church, so goes the nation.”  I have also noted another unwavering historical fact–within the world’s “Christian nations” each generation is more liberal than the previous generation in both the spiritual and social realms.  Having lived eight decades, and being a student of history, I have found that the church has been descending in a downward spiral of moral apostasy for many years.  Church apostasy (separation from and rejection of God) has been obvious as parishioners embraced ever more sin by moving ever farther away from God and toward Satan.  As this has taken place, the nations in which the church is found have mirrored the church by becoming ever more worldly.  The result has been a worldly church and churchly world.  Since the early 1900’s spiritual change has increased with predictable regularity, followed by their national hosts.  Over the past fifty years or so the change has been doubly exponential, meaning that both the AMOUNT of change and the SPEED of that change have increased.   For example, before my retirement several years ago I would tell my sociology students that such and such would take place in the nation (and sometimes in the world) within five to ten years.  However, the change would take place between within two to four years.  The problem lies in the church/society attitudinal change that is taking place relative to the Holy Scriptures.  PEOPLE NO LONGER HONOR GOD’S WORD.  It has become a relic of past generations that, in this age of “ME,” no longer has relevance.  All important information is now found in people’s “life source”–the gadgets they are addicted to and without which they dare not find themselves.  I know of a seven-year-old boy who takes his life source with him to the park so that he can watch it while he plays with other children.  The upcoming generation will know what a friend had for breakfast but will have no clue as to who Jesus of Nazareth was.

Over the past few generations Satan’s false prophets have convinced “the church” to “loosen up” God’s Word, to “humanize it” in order to make the “Christian walk” easier and more in tune with man’s idea of what that walk should be like.  For example, until 1820 it was against the law to celebrate Christmas in the United States because of God’s command recorded in Jeremiah 10:1-5.  Here God states that His people were not to “learn the ways of the heathen.”  Then He describes in detail a heathen holiday in which people removed a tree from the forest, propped it up in their homes with hammer and nails and decorated it with silver and gold.  We learn from secular history that those who celebrated that holiday–the birth of their god–did so because he left gifts under their tree during the previous night.  This “holy night” is revered within professing Christendom to this day.  In keeping with the spiritual aspect of that God-defined abomination, the host nations go all-out in commemorating December 25th.  Refusing to let a good abomination go to waste, they enter into a money-generating frenzy weeks before the “blessed event” arrives.  As a result, “Christmas” ranks second in popularity behind the abomination discussed in the following segment.  Read each series containing the word “Christmas” in the title.  Key word–Christmas.

Another venerated church/state event celebrates “the Day of the Goddess of Fertility” who was also known as the “Queen of Heaven.”  Having come from heaven to earth ensconced within a giant egg, her husband–the sun god–placed it in the Euphrates River where it washed up on the bank.  The egg was hatched by a covey of birds that sat on it.  Exiting the egg’s shell, the multi-breasted goddess changed a chicken into an egg-laying rabbit and convinced the people to observe a day each year in honor of her in early Spring.  On that day the people honored their goddess by sacrificing one of their children, colored some rabbit-lain eggs with their blood and hid them for their remaining children to find.  The goddess was known by different names in different societies.  In English speaking nations she is today called “Easter.”

With the influx of heathen religions into Catholicism, the church embraced their gods and celebrations, then churchized them by giving them new names that were familiar to the parishioners.  For example, Passover became Easter.  Following the lead of the church, the so-called Christian nations have made Easter the most highly celebrated, money-generating holiday of the year.  Read The Easter Deception.  Key word–Easter.  As might be expected, those within the “Christian world” who profess to believe in Jesus are the most active Christmas and Easter celebrators.  So popular are these spiritual abominations that the entire civilized world either celebrates them or acknowledges them, along with another heathen holiday that is celebrated on the first day of every week.

Ask anyone anywhere in the world to name a CHARACTERISTIC of Christianity and the answer will most often be the Sunday Sabbath.  As stated in previous series, the church observed the Saturday (seventh day) Sabbath for the first 333 years of her existence because of God’s 4th commandment.  A change in the Sabbath day was proclaimed by Pope Sylvester I at the council of Laodicea in 364 A.D.  He did this in order to appease the large number of sun worshipers who had been forced to convert to Catholicism at the point of a Roman sword.  Many of professing Christendom’s “truths” entered the church in the same manner.  Many such heathen beliefs and practices are listed on the Introduction page to this website.  Later, when the so-called “Protestants” left the mother church they took many of her heathen beliefs and practices with them, the Sunday Sabbath, Christmas and Easter being the most revered.

As a result of a very effective global missionary work, the Counterfeit (Catholic/Protestant) Church System now celebrates the Sunday Sabbath throughout the earth.  Neither the churches nor the nations know who actually created the Sunday Sabbath–Satan–the father of  all false teachings and customs employed by the modern day church.

A powerful indication of the church-society connection can be seen in the influence that Satan’s church has had and continues to have on national politics.  For example, the church’s false prophets are in fact spiritual murderers in that they have led billions of people to their spiritual deaths by giving them false “truths.”  The nation’s law makers have followed suit in nationalizing some of those “truths.”  For example, the church-orchestrated killing of men’s souls has evolved into the pre-birth killing of millions of unborn children.  As a result of the Roe versus Wade Supreme Court decisions in which abortion was declared legal, every tax-paying citizen of the United States is forced to subsidize not only the murder of innocents in this nation, but in other nations as well due to the Mexico City Accord.   By nationalizing abortion, Americans pay women to kill their offspring.  What the church does spiritually, the nation does physically.

Another example of the “national-follows-spiritual” truth is the legally enforced recognition of homosexuality as a legitimate “lifestyle.”  The church’s “come as you are-stay as you are” theology has been adopted by the governments of so-called “Christian nations” throughout the world who, like their religious counterparts, reject God’s condemnation of all types of sexual deviance, then elect legislators who agree with them.

Generally speaking, the methods by which religious man runs his church system has been adopted by the governments of the nations in which those churches reside.  In the beginning of God’s human family He made the rules of engagement.  The Nation of Israel–His chosen people–lived according to His Law, summarized by the Ten Commandments.  His hand-picked priests and prophets enforced His Law under His unwavering authority.  As both Biblical and social history reveal, the Israelites eventually rejected God’s rule in order to live by their own rules.  Bible students know how disastrous that decision was for the Israelites.  Their biological descendants today comprise the majorities in the world’s Christian nations and have followed the lead of the church by legislating God out of all areas of social life.  As a result He has no part to play in the life of the fallen church which operates according to man’s will.  Predictably, the nations have followed in the church’s footsteps.

Like the church, the nations have rejected God’s Word as their standard of behavior.  Any mention of His Standard in terms of national behavior is summarily rejected.  As a result, God’s light shines only in tiny groups located throughout the world.  In some cases, one lone individual serves as His light to the world around him.  Because God’s light exposes the darkness of those who surround it, God’s light-bearers are hated, rejected and disowned by the “Christian community.”  The United States, the “One Nation Under God” that claims to trust in God, leads the world in hypocrisy as she fails to walk her printed talk.  It is in the United States, where there is “a church on every corner,” that we find Satan in total control of both the spiritual and political aspects of national life.  Spiritual and political leaders seem to be in a contest to see who can be less like God and more like Satan.  Where Satan leads, the church follows.  Where the church leads, the government follows.  Where the government leads, the people follow.  And Satan smiles as his desires become religious and social law.  L.J.
