Out of each 24 hour day, the normal working person has anywhere from one to eight hours during which he/she can do whatever he/she wants to do. Retired people have much more free time. God commands that we redeem a goodly portion of our free time for the purpose of learning about and communicating with Him. We will all be held accountable for our reaction to His command.

Man, including religious man, is in total control of what he does with his free time. When it comes to time away from daily responsibilities, MAN IS IN CHARGE. He obeys either God or Satan relative to time usage. Man is unique in that he is a slave who is allowed to choose his master. As the Master of His saints, God commands them to redeem their time for Him. Satan does the same relative to his people. God tells His people to abide in His world, a practice which has eternal implications. With Satan it is all about the moment–how man can live in a world of his own creation. God’s world is directed from on high using the Holy Scriptures as His guide. The Apostle Peter spoke of this world in John 6:68. When Jesus asked the 12 disciples if they would leave Him as so many others had done, Peter asked the eternal question: “Where shall we go? You have the Words of eternal life.” In the following series of postings I will answer Peter’s question (“Where shall we go?”) by introducing the reader to one of several places Satan makes available to man where he can live the life he himself designs.

Most people are aware of the seductive power of television, the internet, books, magazines, music, etc. Few, however, are aware that Satan has other options that take man’s mind (heart) off his Creator and His Way and focuses it on himself. “Second Life” is one such option. S.L. is a rapidly-growing world in which man can live a life in which he answers only to himself. The activities of those who inhabit S.L. and its counterpart, “Other Kin,” will shock many readers. But be aware that these are but S.L. and O.K. are merely harbingers of the degradation that is coming upon the world. As man slides ever deeper into Satan’s abyss he is being led by the church that, having stepped onto his slippery heathen slope some 1700 years ago, today continues her slide into apostasy with ever-increasing speed. Don’t believe it? Let me remind the reader that there was a time, not long ago, when it was openly and often said that homosexuals would never be welcomed into the Institutional Church. Let me also remind you that the majority of Americans call themselves church people, and that the majority of Americans approve of abortion. Do the math and you will find that church people and Satan’s world are joined at the heart. Never underestimate the church’s potential for rebellion against the Biblical God.
