That which is universally called Christianity is in reality a life-long court case in which each side endeavors to make its case to the judge (the individual) who must decide which presenter was the most persuasive.
Not long after a child is born into a church family Satan begins to make his case for the heart (mind) and soul (body) of that child. From the moment his target first enters a church nursery his religious blitz begins and does not end until the object of his focus has taken his/her final breath. The years between his/her first and final breaths are filled with pressure from Satan’s surrogates to “join the church,” “get saved,” etc. The target is bombarded with thrice per week trips to his local headquarters where he/she is repeatedly warned that to not get saved immediately will cause him/her to be cast into a flame-filled hell where he/she will burn forever. However, getting saved will guarantee him/her an eternity in heaven. Thousands of leaders world-wide repeatedly echo the words heard each Sunday morning, Sunday and Wednesday evening.
Satan’s religion is unique in that it offers a wide variety of choices as to the finer points of Christianity. Having gotten saved, the victim is now firmly trapped within his religious system. If, however, he/she decides that some other group offers a better deal, Satan stands at the ready with a buffet of doctrinal options from which to choose.
In the meantime the Lord has been presenting His case but in an entirely different way. There is no commonality between the two presentations. Both the content and method of delivery differ 180 degrees as He speaks quietly from the Book Satan’s people keep on the shelf in the family study. The Lord’s group is largely unknown and, when identified, is disowned by the religious elite. While Satan’s two-headed, multi-faced religion offers a wide variety of options designed to meet the religious desires of every person on earth, God’s narrow, singular way offers only two options–take it or leave it. While Satan guarantees an end result for showing up, God offers the opportunity to qualify for the promised reward. While Satan offers instant salvation at the end of a prescribed ritual, God offers a future salvation that becomes available only after one has walked with Him in obedience until the end of one’s life. While the devil’s religious system numbers in the billions, the Lord’s group numbers in the thousands. Though Satan’s religious holding company is socially popular and politically powerful, God’s “little flock” is socially rejected and politically powerless.
Throughout one’s life the two spiritual entities make their respective cases to the individual–the judge who will make one of two choices based on which case he/she preferred. As a result of his/her choice he/she will either spend eternity with Jesus Christ as caretaker of the universe, or burn to ash in the Lake of Fire. L.J.
