No one can deny the passion of the Messiah for His Father’s will and His focus on fulfilling it. We who would spend eternity with the Godhead must have the same passion for their Word as did the Man from Galilee. One who is truly a present day son of God must approach the Words of the Father as did their spiritual older Brother–in total belief in and obedience to those Words. Nothing less than Christ-level passion for God’s Holy Bible will enable us to qualify for eternal life. In order to “hear” God’s voice one must be passionate about knowing His Word. His printed Word is His voice. To hear God, and to be able to distinguish between His Scriptural voice and Satan’s church voice requires equally passionate study and prayer. Nothing can be allowed to interfere with that passion, that focus, that dedication to knowing the will of the Lord. One must turn off the t.v. and computer, put down the hand toy, turn off the radio and passionately devour the Word of the Giver of Life Whose Words must be known and obeyed if one is to have any chance at being saved upon Christ’s return.
As salvation seekers we must not allow Satan and his followers to deceive us and lead us through his wide gate and along his broad way that is Catholicism/Protestantism. Religious business as usual will not enable one to receive eternal life. Nothing less than Christ-level passion for the Word (will) of God will enable one to know that Word and obey it. In Matthew 7:13,14 Jesus warned that few believers would do so. This Truth was reiterated in Matthew 20:16 where He warned that “Many will be called (to obey God) but few will be chosen (for having done so). Let us be among the chosen few.
Sadly, the Counterfeit Church does not agree with their supposed Savior. Her sell-out to the devil and his heathen doctrines and practices is proof of this fact. Further proof of the church’s rebellion against the Lord is found in a recent national (U.S.) poll that found that atheists and agnostics were more knowledgeable of the Bible than professing Catholics and Protestants, including evangelicals. I have repeatedly pointed out that the more religious people claim to be the less they know about the Bible, the less they believe what they claim to know, and the less they obey what they claim to believe. The term “dysfunctional religion” was used by the commentators when reporting the results of the poll. I cannot argue with that characterization of Institutional Christendom. L.J.
