Noah And Lot–Reliving The Past (Pt. 1)

A wise man once noted that those who refuse to learn from the past are destined to repeat it. This man was wiser than the majority of his fellow human beings. There is, however, no evidence that he took his own advise. The Biblical God has repeatedly warned those who call themselves by His name not to ignore the past, which, as we are told in 1 Corinthians 10:11, was the reason the Old Testament was recorded. He wanted those “upon whom the ends of the world have come”–the church of the last days–to not make the same mistakes their Israelite ancestors made and therefore suffer the same results. In order that no one be left out, the Lord left the New Testament for those of us who are living in the last of the last days. In it He recorded the Words of the Apostles which they had heard from Him. These are the Words He had heard from the Father via His Holy Spirit, the same Words by which He will judge everyone who has ever lived (Jn. 12:48).

Beginning in the Garden of Eden, God arranged for man’s activities, both good and evil, to be recorded in an attempt to help future generations avoid the pitfalls of the past. Men, being free moral agents, are given the power of choice relative to whose voice they will obey. God’s warnings have failed due to man’s insistence on self-determination. Man’s self-centered attitude has resulted in a world in which both the churched and the unchurched are totally controlled by Satan. As Jesus warned in Matthew 7:13,14, few are the exceptions to this Truth. The wiley devil, being award of man’s craving for self-exaltation, allows religious man to believe that he himself is in charge of his religious life. Man is totally unaware that he is a human puppet who thinks, acts and speaks whatever the hand inside him dictates. Having embraced the devil’s heathen theology, neither the churched nor the unchurched feel the need to consult the Lord’s history/instruction Book to determine on whose track–God or Satan’s–he is traveling. We, however, will.

In this series we will do what professing Christendom in general refuses to do. We will 1) examine our ancestors’ past actions, 2) compare their past actions to our present actions, and 3) note God’s reaction to both. This is the sole reason He left us His Rules of Engagement written on paper. Many years earlier He had given our ancestors a condensed, stone-etched version of His Holy Bible. The Israelites rejected  His Rules of Engagement–the Ten Commandments. As this study will reveal, we are following in our ancestors’ spiritual footsteps. In that God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34), His reaction to modern man’s rebellion will be the same as His reaction to the rebellion of the ancients. He will send modern man, including modern church men living in the world’s so-called “Christian nations,” into military defeat, national destruction, mass slaughter and enslavement of the few who remain alive. He warns us of this Truth throughout His Holy Bible. This avoidable tragedy will take place during the “Great Tribulation” and the “Day of the Lord” that loom just ahead of a clueless, pleasure-obsessed, stuff-accumulating, God-ignoring world. Leading the global pack are the United States of America and England. They are the most guilty because they claim to have a special relationship with the Lord. Rounding out the top three offenders are the Jews of the area misnamed Israel. Blessed beyond compare in the past, these three offenders will soon go down to ignoble defeat at the hands of the Gentile (heathen) masses. This will be the “times of the Gentiles” God warned about. When the Gentiles have had their short period of supremacy, Christ will return to earth at which time He will bring an end to the mess man has produced over the past 6000 years. His millennial (1000 year) Sabbath will then bring peace to the world as He and His saints. Operating out of the Kingdom of God He will establish in the Holy Land, Jesus and His true saints will rule what is left of mankind (Rev. 3:21; 20:4). See The Kingdom of God. In the following postings we will travel back into the past, compare it to the present, then look into the future in order to see where we have been, where we are and where we are going. To do so we will use the only source of spiritual Truth available to mankind–that which Jesus called “Truth”–God’s Holy Word (Jn. 17:17). L.J.
