The first three postings in this series have proven that so-called “natural disasters” are taking place more frequently and are gaining in power, resulting in ever-increasing death and destruction. The Biblically ignorant world is wondering aloud, “Why?” And as usual, the world’s answer is wrong. For example, the same world famous evangelist who denied God’s Word when a hurricane inundated New Orleans a few years back did the same thing again a few days ago by stating that God was not mad at the people of Texas, Florida and other states. He and other so-called “ministers of righteousness” (2 Cor. 11:15) proclaim that, because the Lord loves man He would never pour out His wrath on man. Such false prophets refuse to believe God Who declares repeatedly that He does punish us BECAUSE HE LOVES US. Those who believe His Word know that He sends such horrific “natural disasters” to wake up sinful man and prompt him to repent of his wickedness, turn from evil and obey Him in order to qualify for eternal life. HE EXHIBITS HIS WRATH TO CAUSE MAN TO OBEY HIM SO THAT MAN CAN SPEND ETERNITY WITH HIM. If, that is, we can take Him at His Word, which professing Christendom loudly and repeatedly denies. Minutely few are those who believe His Word, the same Word by which we will all be judged (Jn. 12:48). Before we delve deeply into the Lord’s prophetic Words that will prove that He sends death, disaster and destruction in order to correct mankind, let us examine a statement made by Jesus Christ that proves His prophetic powers.
Of late, people from across the land have been sending aid and traveling across the land to help the people of Texas and Florida. Many proclaim that they are doing so “in the name of the Lord.” Incredibly, these same self-proclaimed Christians refuse to believe and obey what that same Lord said in His Word, thereby calling Him a liar. But the Lord is not surprised by this as His statement in Matthew 7:20-23 reveals. When referring to those who claim to be His people but are not, Jesus said: “Wherefore, by their fruits you will know them. Not every one who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will (Word) of My father which is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that (judgment) day, ‘Have we not prophesied in YOUR NAME? and in YOUR NAME have cast out devils? and in YOUR NAME have done MANY WONDERFUL WORKS?’ And then I will profess to them, ‘I never knew you, depart from Me you workers of iniquity (Lawless ones).” Note it: Jesus prophesied that many of those whom He would cast into the Lake of Fire will have spent their lives doing many WONDERFUL WORKS in HIS NAME. Having for many years been one of those people, I can assure you that His Words are True.
In the following postings we will go to the Source of all spiritual Truth (Jn. 17:17) and read together what God said concerning WHAT He is doing to the people of the United States and other so-called “Christian nations,” and more importantly, WHY He is pouring out His wrath on them. It is my hope that you will continue with me in this important study of God’s Truth. L.J.
