I recently heard a climatologist say: “Mother Nature is speaking out, AND SHE’S ANGRY!” It seems that most everyone realizes that when “natural disasters” take place, something is going on that the human mind, using man’s reasoning powers, simply cannot understand. The explanation can be found only in what God tells us in His Word. Any attempt to explain the reoccurring bouts of death and destruction using man’s mental ability always ends in failure. Due to rejection of God’s Instruction Book, man, including churchman, cannot believe that such “acts of nature” are in fact “acts of God.” Ironically, I can remember when such occurrences were actually called “acts of God” by both the churched and the unchruched. People were convinced that such catastrophies were sent by Him. Therefore they did not expect insurance companies to cover them. And they didn’t.
The fact that we no longer call such occurrences by their correct title highlights the nation’s (and the world’s) rejection of the Word of God. Therefore, it is to that Word that we will turn in order to understand the connection between the world-wide plague of earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, tsunamis, wild fires, droughts, floods, mud slides, rock slides, sink holes, snow storms, etc. and the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth. The Lord warned us that in the latter days there would be nay sayers who would contend that such signs do not point to His return, but that such acts of nature have been taking place for thousands of years: “Know this first of all, there shall come in the last days scoffers … saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation'” (2 Pet. 3:3,4). As future postings will prove, the disasters the world has been experiencing of late are in fact God’s “words” of warning.
As I write these words Hurricane Irma is attacking the state of Florida. Just a few days ago Hurricane Harvey did the same thing to the Texas coastline. While Texas is mopping up after Harvey’s 52 inch rain deluge and Irma is sending her 5-12 inch ocean surges into coastal homes and businesses, drought-aided wild fires are destroying large swaths of California countryside. And as we will see, the rest of the world is not fairing much better. Another phenomenon being pointed out by climatologists is the fact that, not only is the world experiencing an increasing number of disasters, they are growing more destructive and more deadly.
The fact that God is speaking to mankind through nature is obvious to those who know and believe His Word. It is my hope that those who read this website and view my YouTube site (proveallthingsofgod) will come to realize, if they do not already, that EVERYTHING COMES BACK TO GOD’S WORD, which is the Lord Himself in written form. When we study His Word we study Him. Let us diligently study Him and obey Him in order to qualify for eternal life. L.J.
