The following article is not original with me. I do not know its author, but I feel he or she would not mind my passing his/her thoughts on to you.
During a speech in Cairo, Egypt on one of his apology tours U.S. President Barack Obama said: “I know, too, that Islam has always been a part of America’s history.” The following is the author’s response.
Dear Mr. Obama: Have you ever seen a Muslim hospital? or heard a Muslim orchestra? or seen a Muslim marching band in a parade? or known of a Muslim charity? or seen a male Muslim shake hands with a Muslim Girl Scout? or seen a Muslim Candy Striper? Have you ever seen a Muslim do anything that contributes positively to the American way of life?
Were Muslims on this continent when the Pilgrims landed? Was it Muslims that celebrated the first Thanksgiving Day? Can you show me one Muslim signature on: the United States Constitution? the Declaration of Independence? the Bill of Rights? I didn’t think so. Did Muslims fight for this nation’s freedom from England? Did Muslims fight to free the slaves? In fact, Muslims have been the world’s number one trafficker of slaves. Where were Muslims during the Civil Rights era? We see no pictures of a Muslim walking side by side with Martin Luther King. Where were Muslims during the Women’s Suffrage movement? Sharia Law relegates women to the level of slaves. Where were Muslims during WWII? The Muslim grand mufti met with Adolf Hitler, reviewed the troops and accepted support from the Nazis in killing Jews.
Finally, Mr. Obama: Where were Muslims on Sept. 11, 2001? If they were not flying planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon or a field in Pennsylvania they were rejoicing in the Middle East.
That, Mr. Obama, is the “rich heritage” Muslims have here in America.
My question for the president and his soon-to-be replacement: If the tens of thousands of Muslims this administration is bringing into this country are so beneficial to the communities in which they are being established as you attest, why is it that you are being careful not to plant any of them in your neighborhoods? We all know why. I know, I know, I’m just a hater, a racist, etc. If facing facts and looking reality in the eye make me a hating racist, them I will wear that label proudly. L.J.
