Manifest Destiny refers to the belief that a specific event is predestined to take place because God has decreed it. MD covers a wide variety of subjects ranging from individuals to nations. In this series we will be discussing land masses that one group possesses that another group believes God wants them to possess and, spurred on by the surety of Manifest Destiny, they force the inhabitants off the land or into certain areas of the land because they have a Divine Right, even a divine obligation, to do so. Such action usually involves war on some level in that the land must be physically taken from its original inhabitants.

Immanent Domain is similar in meaning and actions but usually involves much smaller land areas such as a building. ID normally involves individually owned private property that a larger entity, such as a city, takes possession of in order to make better use of it.

Over the past couple of generations there has been a movement to “right the wrongs” white settlers perpetrated on the indigenous (Indian) people of what eventually became the United States of America. From early on the takeover of the land by white settlers was legitimized by claiming that the Lord had sent them to take possession of the land for Him (Manifest Destiny) so that it could be used for a better purpose (Immanent Domain) for which the original owners were using it.

As a descendant of American Indians I understand the negative sentiment of many people toward the “white aggressors” who “stole” the land from its Indian owners. My maternal great grandmother was an Indian squaw who, though she was married to a white man and lived in a white community, still wore traditional Indian clothing and retained some of her native customs. Therefore, I sympathize with the Indian people and their modern day supporters. This series will focus on the current social conflict concerning the nation of Israel and how it came to be the possession of the Jews–the tribes of Judah and Benjamin. However, as a Bible-believing Christian, I understand why the original white settlers believed that the land was rightfully theirs because of Manifest Destiny, also known as “Divine Right..” My beliefs as to America’s Manifest Destiny and Immanent Domain relative to the American land mass aligns with the white settlers. I believe that God preserved this land for His people, just as He did in the case of the Israelite people to whom He gave a land mass (Canaan) in the Middle East centuries ago. In part 2 I will explain my thinking by taking the reader back in history to the time of Abraham, the father of the nation of Israel.

But first, I need to explain why so many people, many of whom are professing Christians, do not understand the ways of God. The problem began in the Garden of Eden where Satan convinced Adam and Eve to view the ways of God from a human perspective. The Lord plainly says that His ways are not man’s ways, and that man cannot understand His ways because he (man) views them through the lens of his (man’s) thought processes, values, experiences, etc. (Rom. 11:33,34). For this reason, Christianity is not what God designed it to be–a Law-keeping group that obeys His commands without question. The result of man’s insistence on self-rule has created a two-headed, multi-bodied, multi-faithed, multi-goded religious monster known collectively as “the church.”

The underlying cause of Christendom’s rejection of almost all of the Old Testament is because it contains God’s Ten Commandment Law which church people have been deceived into believing was “nailed to the cross” of Jesus Christ. What was destroyed was the sacrificial law and the rules and regulations involved in obedience to it. Bible Truth seekers know that the New Testament provides undeniable proof that the death of the Ten Commandment Law is not Biblical as Jesus Himself noted in Matthew 5:17. Satan’s objective in spreading the dead Law lie was to cause church people to reject commandment #4–God’s weekly seventh day (Saturday) Sabbath–thereby making them guilty of iniquity (Lawlessness) which prevents them from becoming true Christians (Mat. 7:21-23). Read the series concerning the Law using that world as the key. I will give you a hint as to what you will find in those series by quoting First John 3:4–“To transgress the Law is sin, for sin is the transgression of the Law.” John was a New Testament writer. I will add another hint: “The Law and the commandments are holy, just and good” (Rom. 7:12). The Apostle Paul was also a New Testament writer. Notice that in the Holy Scriptures the words “Law” and “commandments” are used interchangeably.

Because church doctrine has been dominated by Catholic theology for the past 1900 years, professing Christendom has assumed that what has been passed from generation to generation relative to God and His ways is Bible Truth. And because the Catholic Church would not allow people to own, read or hear the Holy Scriptures for hundreds of years, the “truths” church people heard were the teachings of the Catholic priesthood, many of which were borrowed from heathen religions. Protestantism is merely Catholicism light. For this reason they will one day soon rejoin and become totally Catholic–the Sunday Sabbath being the focal issue around which all religions will converge. As I noted in earlier series, the false prophet of Revelation 16:13; 19:20 and 20:10 who will lead the end-time, one-world church will be the reining Pope. Could it be the current Pope? I would not be surprised.

When Martin Luther and his “protestors” left the Catholic Church they did not leave because they disagreed with the church’s theology, but because of the personal sins of the priests. The so-called “Protestants” took many of Catholicism’s pagan beliefs and customs with them when they departed, some of which are listed on the home page of this website. One will notice that many of those heathen “truths” form the very foundation of the New Testament Church. That reveals how far from God the modern-day church has strayed. What we are witnessing relative to the church and the nation that follows in her moral footsteps is the “great falling away” (apostasy) prophesied by the Apostle Paul in Second Thessalonians 2:3 that would take place just before Christ returns to the earth. Read about this religious and national fall from grace using Apostasy as the key word.

Another reason for the church’s ignorance of the Holy Scriptures is the Catholic rule that one must never question the teachings of the priesthood. Not being allowed access to the Holy Scriptures and not being allowed to question their leaders, “Bible truth” became whatever the priesthood declared it to be. Since the “Protestant Reformation” created a second “head” on the religious serpent, “God’s Truth” has become whatever each church, denomination, faith, etc. wants it to be. Because of this Truth-rejecting, apostasy-causing sin, God’s Holy Word is the most-purchased but least-known, least-understood book ever printed.

I knew and proclaimed early on that this ministry was to be directed toward the church–that the Institutional Catholic/Protestant Religious System was my mission field. Because the Lord wants church people to STUDY THE HOLY BIBLE to determine if what I am telling them is Bible Truth, I provide scriptural references for almost everything I write. He wants readers to “prove all things” they read or hear relative to the Bible (1 Thes. 5:21). Do not take my, or anyone else’s, word for anything relative to God’s Truth, which Jesus said was His Word in John 17:17.

On a positive note concerning this ministry, I send some of what I write on this website to a prison inmate who shares my teachings with her fellow inmates. She tells me that when they compare what I write to what they have been told by church leaders they conclude that they have been taught lies. As a result, the prison officials duplicate my messages and give them to the inmates so that each can have their own personal copies of my teachings. Think about it: prison inmates accept the Bible as God’s Truth while Bible-toting, Scripture-quoting, cross-wearing, church-going people reject it in favor of their own doctrines. In so doing they commit IDOLATRY because only God can determine Truth. Church people have made themselves gods. Commandment #1 condemns them.

I will close with a few quotes from Jesus Christ relative to the church’s rejection of the Holy Scriptures: “These people honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. THEY WORSHIP ME IN VAIN by rejecting My commandments and embracing the doctrines of men” (Mk. 7:6,7). “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord’ and REFUSE TO DO WHAT I SAY (Lk. 6:46). “Greater love has no man than He lay down His life for His friends. You (disciples) are My friends IF YOU DO WHATSOEVER I COMMAND YOU” (Jn. 15:13,14). Those three statements alone should cause people to obey His command found in Second Corinthians 6:14-7:1 immediately. Read that passage and react accordingly. L.J.
