As defined in part one of this series, “liberal” means that one’s concept of truth, right and reality is not restricted to what has been proven to be the truth, to what has historically determined to be right, to universally agreed-upon reality.  In the spiritual world in which God and His true saints live, “Truth” is His Word (Jn. 17:17).  In God’s world, “right” is what God spoke to His prophets and apostles through His Holy Spirit and commissioned them to speak and record (2 Pet. 1:21). Within God’s true church, “reality” is whatever God declares it to be in His Word which His Son preached while on earth and commissioned His apostles to preach following His departure (Acts 1:1-3/ Mat. 24:14/ Mk. 1:14).

The Pilgrims who landed on the shores of what would become the United States of America they were Sabbath keepers–they obeyed God’s 4th commandment to “Remember THE Sabbath Day and KEEP IT HOLY.”  Why?  Because God had commanded all who would become His saints to sanctify the 7th day of the week as their day of rest.  This was the day of the week He called “My holy day” (Isa. 58:13), the day He had given man in which to focus on Him alone.  No work, no play, no recreation were to take place on that day.  HE (GOD)WAS TO BE MAN’S ONLY FOCUS OF ATTENTION.  The Pilgrims knew that Catholicism’s false sabbath, their Christmas, New Years and Easter celebrations, their teachings concerning life after death, salvation without works of holiness and righteousness, the demise of the Law, original sin, replacement theology, etc. were all of Satanic origin.  They had left those heathen beliefs and customs in England where they were being enforced by with her Catholic monarchy.

However, within a few generations all of those beliefs and practices had become “Bible truths” among church people in the colonies.  They continue to reign within the whole of professing Christendom to this day.  Question: what happened?  What changed the strait and narrow way of the Pilgrims into the any-way-you-want-it way of the modern day Institutional Church?  Answer: liberalism–not adhering to God’s commanded truth, right and reality.  In Scripture this is symbolically represented as “leaven.”

The transformation of the God’s definition of truth, right and reality into Satan’s version did not happen over night.  Like everything else the devil does, Satan’s control over the church developed slowly and with great stealth.  The Apostle Paul saw it coming and warned the churches in his letters to them, as did the other apostles.  Their warnings fell on deaf ears in many cases.  Today, only a minutely few professing Christians believe and obey God’s Truth.

Christ has always had a “remnant” of true believers whom He calls His Very Elect, His saints, His peculiar people, His priests, His jewels.  These, He noted in Matthew 7:13,14 and 20:16, would be few in number.  These, He noted in Matthew 12:50; 19:17/ John 14:15,23 15:10,13,14 were His spiritual “brethren,” His “friends” who showed their love for Him by “… obey(ing) the Words of My Father in heaven,” by “… do(ing) everything I command you (His disciples) to do,”– by “… keep(ing) My commandments.”  These are they who qualified to abide in His love by keeping His commandments, just as He (Jesus) abode in God’s love by keeping His commandments.”

As had been the case in Eden, as had been the case after Noah’s flood, as had been the case after the destruction of Babylon, as had been the case after Israel’s deliverance from Egyptian slavery, as had been the case following the death of King David, as had been the case following the establishment of the New Testament Church–what God raised up high, Satan laid down low.

In short order the light of the Gentiles God had established in the New World had gone out.  What had begun in Godly truth, right and spiritual reality had become a counterfeit (perverted) version of God’s gospel.

I cringe when I see and hear advertisements hawking “Christian” books, movies, c.d.’s, etc., when I hear so-called “Christian rock,” when I hear verbal garbage being put forth as truth, right and Godly reality.  I weep internally when I see so-called “Christian ministries” going throughout the world spreading Satan’s false “Christian” narrative in the name of Jesus Christ.  I hate the “social gospel” so-called “ministers of righteousness” are feeding the masses while convincing them that church doctrine is in fact God’s Truth.  People are actually being martyred for their allegiance to the teachings of missionaries, evangelists, t.v. personalities who convince them to embrace the ways of Satan by calling them the ways of God.  Jesus warned us about this in Matthew 24:4,5.  He said in Hosea 4:6: “My people are being destroyed because of a lack of knowledge.”

The problem is not a lack of opportunity to attain knowledge of God’s Truth.  The problem is that God seekers are being shielded from His Truth by those who present Satan’s ear-scratching version of it as the real Truth.  They proclaim Satan’s “headlines” as the totality of God’s Truth while withholding from them the “fine print” which tells them how to attain what God has promised in His “headlines.”  This is like promising them a chest filled with gold but not telling them how to find it.  All they have are the promises which they are told are theirs for the faithing.  This in spite of James’ oft-repeated Truth that “Faith without works is dead” (Jam. 2:10,14,17,18,20,24,26) and Christ’s repeated proclamation that faith without obedience to the Ten Commandment Law is wasted faith.  The Law includes commandment #4.

The enemy of God and all that He created is liberalism.  In baseball there has come about what is called the “neighborhood rule” relative to second base and the double-play.  The defender no longer needs to actually touch second base for the runner to be called out; he only needs to get close to it–to be in its “neighborhood.”  To succeed he only needs to “touch” it in his mind.

Christianity is filled with “neighborhood rules.”  This ministry was commissioned to expose the Catholic/Protestant Church’s “neighborhood rules” and call them what they are–Satan’s death-dealing “truths.”  The are Satan’s gifts from the world of liberalism where truth, right and reality are fluid and subjective.  They are whatever one wants them to be.  Sinners saved by grace tell us that Jesus suffered and died to establish God’s “neighborhood rule.”  Not the Jesus I know.

I recently read about a female minister who, “after much prayer,” had concluded that God would have her abort her last two pregnancies.  She stated that it was “because of our (her and her husband’s) faith” that she would murder those children so that they could better care for the two they already had.  They had studied the Scriptures and prayed extensively.  God, they concluded, would enable them to better care of their children by killing two more.  They were doing what God required–caring for their two living children.  They were therefore, “in the neighborhood” relative to their welfare.  Close enough was good enough.  They were living “close enough” to God’s Truth, His right and His reality to remain in good standing with Him.

Jesus warns us in Matthew 24 about man’s deceiving us (vs 4,5).  Many would come, confess that He, Jesus was indeed the Messiah, and then would deceive many.  Their deceptions would come as a result of mass liberalism on the part of both the ministry and the laity.  In Matthew 24:10-13 Jesus noted that church people would lose the love (agape) God had given them and would hate one another.  As a result iniquity (Lawlessness) would abound among professing Christians because they listened to false prophets (vs 11) within the church.  Only those in the church who endure to the end with their holiness intact will be saved (vs 12; Mat. 10:22).  L.J.
