The most oft-quoted, memorized, believed, preached about and sung about passage found in the Bible is John 3:16,17: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” Because billions of believers fail to study God’s Word “precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little” as we are commanded to do in Isaiah 28:10,13, this writer does exactly that and provides his findings to those with eyes to see and ears to hear what the Lord is saying to the nations. Following God’s Isaiah 28 command satisfies other of His commands such as, “Study to show thyself approved of God” (2 Tim. 2:15), and “Prove all things; cling to that what is good; reject that which is evil” (1 Thes. 5:21,22). In order to bring to light some of the Biblical information that Satan has kept hidden from the church for the past 2000 years, let us begin our study with the word “believe/believeth”–to have faith.
Those who study the Bible for God’s Truth (Jn. 17:17) know that God views “believe” and “obey” as one in the same, just as the Apostle James emphatically states in 2:17-26. Here God tells us that belief (faith) without obedience (works) is dead. The church’s rejection of these Scriptures allows Satan to lure God-seekers off of God’s spiritual, Bible-stated track leading to His strait gate and narrow way, and onto his (Satan’s) religious, church-stated track leading to his wide gate and broad way (Mat. 7:13,14). See Bait and Switch. In the spiritual realm, faith/belief is based solely on one thing–the Word of God–as He tells us in Romans 10:17: “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Faith is not believing in God. Nor is it believing what He did and is doing. FAITH IS BELIEVING WHAT HE SAID. The Lord based man’s faith on His Word. In order for saints to have an unchanging basis for their faith, He left us the Bible with orders not to alter it in any way. Man changes, the world changes, but the Word of God is eternal. Jesus–the Word (Jn. 1:1-4,14) is the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb. 13:8). He is the Lord; He changes not (Mal. 3:6). In a vain attempt to humanize the Lord, religious man assumes that God changes as he changes, thereby creating an evolving Truth/gospel. Man evolves religiously as he finds additional errors in God’s Word. He then assumes that God, having been shown the error of His Ways, agrees with those who correct Him. This heresy was voiced publicly by a homosexual priest who, when confronted with God’s condemnation of his evil life-style, declared on global television: “God has changed.” And professing Christendom nodded its collective head while muttering a heart-felt “Amen.” Once again, man’s (read Satan’s) word trumps God’s Word, which is brought out on this website. Rejection of God’s Word began with Adam and Eve. Like them, their modern spiritual descendants–the church–believe Satan who assures them that God’s Word is subject to their desires and approval. In His infinite wisdom, God warned us about this heresy in Ephesians 4:11-16. Here the Lord, through the Apostle Paul, commands His saints to follow HIS APPOINTED MINISTERS who are tasked with leading them (the saints) to the unity of THE (ONE) FAITH which, if acted upon, leads all to grow into “the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” Paul warns us not to be tossed to and fro and carried about with every WIND OF (CHURCH) DOCTRINE, by the TRICKERY OF MEN (false prophets)….” We are commanded to grow up in all things into (to be like) Him who is the Head of the church. As a man, the Head of the church believed and obeyed His Father’s Word. We are commanded to follow His example. Religious man rejects His example. Jesus had faith; we are commanded to have that same faith. Faith is believing God’s Word and obeying it. Doing so would eliminate all of the so-called churches, denominations, faiths, etc. that litter the world’s religious landscape today. To be continued. L.J.
