Jesus Christ loved mankind so much that He gave His life so that every person who has ever lived could have the opportunity to spend eternity with Him on a purified, beautified and sanctified earth Biblically known as The Kingdom of God–a future globalized version of the Garden of Eden. Jesus said that greater love has no man than one who lays down his life for His friends (Jn. 15:13,14). No man loved more than the One who voluntarily allowed Himself to be beaten to the point of death, then nailed to a stake where He remained until death mercifully intervened. No man has suffered for others as did Jesus of Nazareth.
Yet that same Jesus Christ called the largest segment of the world’s human population a name reserved for the lowest of His Father’s creations–“dogs” (Mat. 15:26). To show God’s attitude toward those who do not obey Him, whom He calls “dogs,” turn to Revelation 22:14,15 where the Apostle John contrasts the Lord’s obedient saints to all other people: “BLESSED are they that DO HIS COMMANDMENTS (keep His Law).” These are the ONLY ones who will “eat of the tree of (eternal) life.” Outside of the blessed group are “DOGS and SORCERERS and WHOREMONGERS and MURDERERS and IDOLATERS and those who LOVE A LIE.” Note the group into which God places the world’s “dogs” (Gentiles/heathen–disobedient ones). God calls those who disobey His Law not only “dogs,” but also His “ENEMIES” (Rom. 5:10/ Phil. 3:18). They are His enemies because they worship and serve other gods (Deut. 12:29-32), which is idolatry, which He condemns in His first commandment. The word “Gentile” applies to anyone who does not believe in, believe, obey, love, worship, exalt and serve the Biblical God totally. At present that group numbers approximately seven and one-half billion human beings whom He calls dogs/enemies/Gentiles/heathen. At one point in time this group made up all but eight people on earth–Noah and his family. So vile were they that only those eight people survived God’s wrath. The percentage of the population who were worthy of life at that time was less than one tenth of one percent. Nothing has changed. YET JESUS GAVE HIS LIFE FOR ALL OF HUMANITY, INCLUDING THE DOGS/ENEMIES/GENTILES/HEATHEN that have inhabited the earth since the creation.
To get a clearer picture of God’s attitude toward Law breakers, turn to Psalm 5:4-6. Here, David, the man after God’s own heart, said of Him Who never changes (Mal. 3:6): “For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, neither will an evil person live with you (in paradise). The foolish person will not stand in your sight; you hate all workers of iniquity. You will destroy and abhor him who speaks vanity.” The Word “hate” in Hebrew is “sane,” meaning to utterly hate and reject. The Word “iniquity” means Lawlessness. “Vanity” means to take God’s place by rejecting His Law and obeying one’s own concept of good and evil. This is also known as idolatry. Those guilty of iniquity claim that He “nailed the Law to the cross,” thereby freeing them to make their own rules–church doctrines, customs, rules, etc. See the Introduction to this website for a list of such abominations.
In order to inherit salvation one must submit to the Lord totally by obeying, worshiping, loving and serving Him with one’s entire being. Anyone who does not submit to Him is a “dog”–an “enemy” of both Father and Son. In Luke 10:16 Jesus said that those who refuse to obey His Words “despise” both Himself and His Father. This includes “the church,” aka “sinners saved by grace.” To fully understand the significance of obedience relative to Christ’s death and those for whom He died, let us return to John 15:13,14. Here He is talking to the twelve men whom His Father had appointed to be His apostles. These men would take His gospel to the world, establish His churches and write much of what would come to be known as the New Testament. (Jn. 17:9,11,24). Jesus wanted these men to understand the significance of strict obedience to His Words, and to realize that just because they had been preaching the gospel, healing the sick, casting out devils, etc., they were not guaranteed a place in God’s future kingdom. He said to them: “Greater love has no man but that he lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends, IF YOU DO WHATSOEVER I COMMAND YOU TO DO.” Otherwise, they would no longer be His friends and would be treated exactly like Gentile dogs. Understand this, if we do not obey Him we are not His friends, and His death was in vain. As the Apostle Paul told the church at Rome, being an Israelite and having access to the Law–the “Oracles of God”–meant nothing if one did not keep the Law (Rom. 3:1,2). He repeated that Truth in his first letter to the church at Corinth where he told them that the only thing that mattered in this life was “the keeping of the commandments of God” (7:18,19). Nothing has changed. One’s biological or religious pedigree means nothing. As Paul said, obedience to the Law (1 Jn. 3:4)–keeping oneself free of sin– is the ONLY thing that matters. Without such obedience we are, in God’s eyes, “dogs” (Gentiles/heathen).
In the “Restitution” series we learned that God is going to restore the Kingdom of Israel to its former prominence. For a “dog” to qualify to enter that kingdom he/she must be a friend of Jesus–one who does whatsoever He commands him to do. His commandments are collectively called the Law which He condensed into the Ten Commandments and wrote them in stone. This includes commandment number four. The transgression of the Sabbath commandment as written will cause billions of people (“dogs”) to be left behind when the first resurrection takes place. See the Millennium series. There will be no dogs/Gentiles/heathen/vain and idolatrous “sinners saved by grace” in the Kingdom of God. As Jesus said, few would enter therein (Mat. 7:13,14). It is impossible to qualify for salvation if one remains in the Catholic/Protestant religious system (2 Cor. 6:14-7:1). As Paul told them, God’s church and Belial’s (Satan’s) church have “no concord.” They are spiritual enemies.
