In 2 Samuel 7:12,13 God has promised King David that He would establish his (David’s) monarchy (ruling family) in his son Solomon. Then in verse 16 He assured David again: “… your (David’s) house (Scepter possessing family–Judah), your kingdom (Israel) and your throne (Scepter designating royal power and status) will be established FOREVER.” Note that both David’s family and its Scepter would be established forever. Therefore both the family and the Scepter must be in existence today. But notice what God said in verses 14,15 concerning the monarchy. Here He is speaking about Solomon in the present and about the family (monarchy) in the future: “I (God) will be his (Solomon’s) Father and he will be My son. If he (Solomon and the monarchy in the future) sins I will punish him (them) with the rod of men. Men will lay strips on him (them). But My mercy (toward the monarchial Jewish family sitting on the throne) will not depart from him (them).” Though the world has lost sight of the “Lost Tribes of Israel” and dismisses Judah (the Jews) as meaningless, God has not. He has promised to maintain the Scepter and the Birthright FOREVER.
Solomon failed. Israel failed. Judah failed. The Jews and the descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh faded from public view. The nation of Israel, the Scepter, the Birthright tribes, the language, the religion all became afterthoughts to the world in general, and even to the Israelites themselves. As far as the world is concerned, only the hated and despised Jews remain in existence today. But God has not lost track of His chosen people. GOD KNOWS WHO AND WHERE ISRAEL IS TODAY. And now you know because God promised that in the last days knowledge of Biblical things that will have been hidden for centuries would become known through His ministers. The Scepter, the throne, the monarchy and the Birthright nations exist on earth today. The Almighty confirmed this in Psalm 89:3,4,27-38 where we find Him saying that He had made a covenant with David and had established his seed (descendants) and his throne (Scepter of rulership) FOREVER THROUGHOUT ALL THEIR GENERATIONS. He went on to say that His mercy would be everlasting, that His covenant with David would never end, and that his seed and his throne would endure AS LONG AS HEAVEN ENDURES. This means that DAVID’S MONARCHY, THRONE AND SCEPTER ARE ON EARTH TODAY. In Jeremiah 33:17 the Lord promised that the monastic throne would never be without a descendant of David sitting on it. As the following will show, the throne/Scepter and the monarchy, though not recognized by the world’s masses, continue to exist. Like the Birthright nations, they are “lost.” But the all-knowing God of the Holy Bible knows where they are individually and corporately.
Recall that the 11 tribes of Israel (also known as Samaria, Ephraim and Joseph) had split from Judah over a taxation issue and, due to rebellion against God, had been defeated by Assyria and taken into slavery in 720 B.C. More on this later. They were later scattered throughout the inhabited world as god had prophesied they would be (Jer. 4:16; 13:24; 18:17/ Eze. 12:14,15; 22:17/ Acts 20:13). Once having been scattered they would become “a light (Word-bearer) to the Gentiles” (Isa. 42:6; 49:6). Proud and headstrong Judah, following in the footsteps of Israel, was defeated and enslaved in Babylon in 585 B.C. During the fall of Judah, King Zedekiah had been captured and killed along with his sons and all of Judah’s leading men. With the males of the monarchy dead, it appeared that the Scepter and the monarchy had come to an end. L.J.
