In Isaiah 1:5-15,21,23 we find the Lord, speaking to the Jews through the prophet, describing in detail their spiritual condition and reminding them of how He despises the religious exercises they perform with zeal and regularity. The modern church believes that in verses 11-15 God does away with His former commands to observe His weekly Sabbath and other Holy Days which are celebrated throughout the year. Led by Satan, the church believes that these verses allow each cult to choose the day it wants to observe the weekly Sabbath while doing away with His annual Holy Days. As we will see, this theology is based on Babylonian mystery religions which the Catholic Church embraced during the fourth century when, using the power of the Roman Empire, they forced masses of heathen to accept Catholicism. In order to appease them the church accepted many of their beliefs and practices into her catechisms. When the so-called “Protestants” (“harlot daughters”) supposedly departed from the mother whore (“mystery, Babylon”–Rev. 17:1,5) they failed to cut the religious umbilical that connected them. As a result the harlots took many of the whore’s beliefs and practices with them. Both of Satan’s church systems continue to observe them to this day. In verses 5,6 God compares the Jews to a human body that has a sick head and a fainting heart due to their having their minds (hearts) continually on sin. That same God identified sin as “the transgression of the Law” in 1 John 2:6. In verses 5,6 the Lord describes the rest of the “body” as being covered with bruises, wounds and sores that had not been treated–the people had failed to repent and return to Him in order to be “healed.” The Lord’s description of Judah’s physical “bruises” and “sores” describes the spiritual wounds God had inflicted upon her because of her sins. God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). What He did to the ancient Israelites (all 12 tribes) He promises to do to their descendants. Through His Old Testament prophets and New Testament apostles God speaks to those who call themselves by His name, warning them that there is a price to pay for rebelling against Him. He will wound just so long, then He will destroy them through famine, military defeat, slavery, etc. In the Old Testament we find Him doing exactly that to both the Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of Judah.

In Isaiah 1:6-8 God describes to the Jews and their Israelite brethren (the U.S., Britain and Israel today) one of the ways He will “wound” and “bruise” them for their sins. He warned them that they were then (and are today) being attacked by those whom they have invited to live among them, whose religious practices they have allowed to exist in their midst. He tells them (and us) that strangers (non-Israelites–Gentiles) are “eating their food”–consuming what His people have worked and fought for–while destroying them spiritually. Look at the Scepter nation and the two Birthright nations today: Muslims live and thrive in the nation called Israel while the United States and Britain have welcomed them by the thousands with more on the way. The United States is now dotted with Muslim mosques. More are being built. London now has over 200 Shariah law courts, a Muslim mayor and “no-go zones” where the police are not allowed to go. Muslims have established their own self-ruling zones within the city. As soon as the liberals regain control of the government the United States will resemble Britain.

In 1:9 God, speaking through the Prophet Isaiah, notes that, with the exception of His tiny remnant of obedient saints, Judah (the “Jews” of the Middle East) and Israel (Britain and the United States) are like Sodom and Gomorrah, cities which He had destroyed because of their sins. He goes on to label the nations of Israel “Sodom” and “Gomorrah” because, like their ancient spiritual counterparts, they have rebelled against Him and His Law/Word. In verse 10 Isaiah commands the people, then and now, to listen to (the reading of) God’s Law, which he refers to “the Word of the Lord.” God’s Word is His Law. A Law must be obeyed in order for one to remain in good standing with the Law Giver and Enforcer–God Himself. Such obedience to His Law shows that the Law-obeyer loves the Law-giver. Jesus said: “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Jesus said in John 14:15;15:10 that in order to remain in His love one had to keep His commandments. He went on to say that He, Jesus Christ Himself, remained in His Father’s love only by keeping those same commandments. Notice: Jesus Christ said that in order for Him to remain one with His Father HE HAD TO KEEP HIS FATHER’S COMMANDMENTS. Question: Why would God nail those commandments to His cross if we are commanded to keep them? “Come, let us reason together” says the Lord. L.J.
