From atop Mt. Sinai the Word (the God of the Old Testament Who became Jesus of Nazareth, the Founder and Head of the New Testament Church) spoke His Law of Life into existence, then etched it in stone and placed it in an ark guarded by two angels. He then hid the ark where it remains hidden to this day. Why? TO KEEP MAN FROM CHANGING IT. Earlier, the children of Israel whom He had recently freed from Egypt (sin), had been spiritually baptized in the Red Sea (1 Cor. 10:1,2), thereby cleansing them of the sin in which they had lived for many generations. He then commanded them to celebrate their deliverance from Egypt (called “sin”) each year at that time (during the Spring). They would call the celebration “Passover.” The Holy Day was kept by the church until March 7, 321 A.D. when Roman Emperor Constantine, in conjunction with the Catholic Church, changed the Lord’s Holy Day Passover to a worldly holiday in honor of Ishtar, which the Western World calls “Easter”–the heathen goddess of fertility with her symbols of reproduction–eggs and rabbits. Read Simon of Samaria and Easter. Key words–Simon and Easter respectively.
Having arrived at Mt. Sinai where He would personally meet with them, the Lord, speaking through Moses, told the people of Israel that IF they would obey His “voice” (what He would later tell them audibly), that they would be His people and He would be their God. The people agreed to obey what He would tell them. He then audibly spoke the Law (which He condensed into Ten Commandments) by which He would govern all who would obey it, thereby making them His people. Since that time He has instructed His prophets and apostles to speak and write often about that Ten Commandment Law. Our responsibility is to tell salvation seekers to obey it in order to live in His good graces in this life and to receive the benefits outlined in His covenant with them (Exo. 19,20/ Lev. 26/ Deut. 28). The covenant God offered to both biological Israelites and spiritual Israelites (His true church today–Gal. 6:16) is the Holy Bible.
Within days of receiving the Lord’s Law the people rebelled against it. Later He would say through the Prophet Isaiah that a holy being (the Word–Jn. 1:1-4,14) would come to earth to “magnify the Law and make it holy (again)” (Isa. 42:21). That holy being was the Word (Old Testament God) Himself Who, as a man, would walk among men and live as they lived in the circumstances in which they lived. His obedience to the Law would serve as the example for all who wished to spend eternity with Him and His Father in the paradise that They would create on earth.
In order to keep His eternal Law in the minds of His people, the Lord commanded His prophets anciently and His apostles today to preach and write about it while living in obedience to its tenants until His Second Advent which will bring the present world to an end. Those who, throughout history, have obeyed that Law will be resurrected (in the first resurrection) and taken to the Promised Land where He will create the Kingdom of God from which He and they (His Very Elect saints) will rule–first the earth for 1000 years (the millennium), then the universe forever. Read The Three Resurrections, The Millennium: What is it? God’s Very Elect: Future Caretakers of the Universe and The Kingdom of God. Key words–Three, Millennium, Caretakers and Kingdom respectively.
The entire Holy Bible is a covenant that God has made with His most cherished creation–mankind. He would have all people to believe and obey the rules of life He has plainly laid out within it. By doing so all would receive eternal life upon His return–His Second Advent. The problem with salvation-seeking man is that he embraces the promises God makes in His Holy Scriptures but refuses to obey the conditions that must be met in order to receive them. The promises include eternal life.
This ministry is focused on what is globally known as “the church.” So far, only a minutely few have believed God’s Word/Truth/Light/Gospel. Just as Satan’s promise to Adam and Eve that they could sin and get away with it is still being embraced by those who claim Him as their God. For this reason Jesus said in Matthew 7:13,14 that only a “few” would search for and “find” the way onto His narrow, restrictive My-way-only walk that leads to His earthly Kingdom of God. The “many,” He warned, would casually stroll onto Satan’s broad, any-way-you-want way that supposedly leads to heaven.
Relative to the theme of this series, those who believe themselves to be in good stead with the Biblical God have failed to obey His Bible Study Rules and, as a result, have eliminated His Law from their lives. This Law is the covenant He makes with salvation seekers by which He governs those who obey Him. In so doing, the vast majority within professing Christendom have disqualified themselves from reaping the rewards promised in God’s covenant. Question: why do 99% of salvation seekers fail to live in God’s spiritual presence? Answer: they fail to follow the Lords RULES FOR STUDYING THE HOLY BIBLE as plainly stated TWO TIMES in Isaiah 28:9-13. As a result of this failure they have allowed Satan to deceive them into creating hundreds of false interpretations of several Biblical passages. Without carefully studying the Holy Word “precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little” as the Lord commands, deadly errors are guaranteed are believed to be “Bible truth.”
The true seeker of Truth will believe in the importance of the Law IF he searches for and finds such “Fine Print” statements as, “Holy men of old spoke (and wrote) as they were moved upon by the Holy Spirit” (2 Pet. 1:21) and “The Law is holy, just and good” (Rom. 7:12) and “IF would have eternal life, obey the commandments” (Mat. 15:10) and “You are My disciples indeed IF you obey My commandments” (Jn. 8:31). NOTE THAT THESE ARE ALL NEW TESTAMENT STATEMENTS.
Holy men of all ages wrote God’s holy Words as they were led by His Holy Spirit. In the following segment we will examine several Biblical statements that, due to a lack of disciplined study, have been interpreted to mean that God’s Law is no longer in effect. Other, equally relevant passages are ignored due to their darkness-clearing qualities. As a result of these Satan-orchestrated errors, modern churchman is walking along that darkness-shrouded way that Jesus warned about in Matthew 7:13,14. As He prophesied, few salvation-seekers walk His narrow path today. Many, He said, have been called to walk His way, but few will be chosen for having done so (Mat. 22:14). Let us all be among the CHOSEN FEW. L.J.
