Before delving into this series let us be reminded of the definitions of two words that are often confused when spiritual matters are being discussed. Those words are “world” and “earth.” The word “earth” means the suspended ball of dirt, rock, water, etc. suspended in space by the power of God. “World,” on the other hand, refers to the human-generated organizations, businesses, families, social clubs, political bodies, nations, states, etc. In summary, God created the earth; man created the world. Without too much historical research, let us leap forward in time from the re-creation of the earth and the creation of mankind as recorded in the first three chapters of the Book of Genesis to the present time.
In the first three chapters of the Book of Revelation Jesus directs the Apostle John to write letters to seven churches of God in seven villages formed along a Roman mail route in what is today known as the nation of Turkey. A map of that route reveals that the villages lay along the route in the order as outlined in Revelation 1:11: Ephesis, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Phialedelphia and Laodicea. Those seven churches represented the seven church eras (time elements) of the church age that began in 31 A.D. and will end with the return of Jesus Christ to earth–Ephesis being the first church/era and Laodicea being the final church/era.
Note that each church was notably different from the church that preceded it, just as each church era that has come to fore has differed from the previous era. Each of the ancient churches had its positive and negative points which the Lord pointed out in His messages to them. Church history reveals that each church era has mirrored the moral characteristics of its original church as Christ describes them in Revelation 2 and 3. By describing each church the Lord gave believers a look into the character of the church’s future. His depictions have been spot on, which surprises no one who knows and believes His Word. Note that the Lord told John to record on a scroll the visions and words He (Christ) was showing and telling him. He then told John that there would come a time when the seals of the scroll would be broken and what was written under each seal would take place during the “Lord’s Day”–the one year period of time immediately prior to Christ’s return. As the Lord told John, the terror, destruction and death that will take place during the great and terrible day of the Lord (Joel 2:11) will make the preceding 2 1/2 year period of horror known as the Great Tribulation pale by comparison. Since John’s vision took place (about 100 A.D.) the church eras have arisen, manifested the moral traits Jesus prophesied, then faded away, just as He said they would. As one era was fading the next era was taking shape.
It is important to note in Revelation 1:12-20 that Christ would be “IN THE MIDST” OF EACH CHURCH (candlestick). No matter how good or bad those in the original church and later in its corresponding church era might prove to be, He would be in the midst of it. Note that the final (Laodicean) era–the era we are living in today–was prophesied to be especially wicked and rebellious (Rev. 3:14-22). As readers of this website know, Jesus was perfect in his characterization of that era.
Note also that Jesus had only good things to say about the ancient Philadelphia church. In 3:7-12 He characterized the Philadelphia church as one that “WORKED,” meaning that those of that era “KEPT HIS WORD” and therefore “DID NOT DENY HIS NAME” (vs 8). In verse nine He states that He “LOVED” those in that ancient church era, meaning that He would also love those in the future Philadelphia era in that they would mirror the moral character of their spiritual ancestors. Note that in verse nine Jesus identifies a group who falsely “say they are (spiritual) Jews” (true Christians–Law keepers) but are not.” He congatulates the true spiritual Jews who prove their exalted status by obeying His commandments/words (Jn. 14:15,25). Note that He calls false Christians (Law-breakers) “liars.” Note also that He will protect the Philadelphians during the Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord that will come upon the earth at the end of the age–the Laodicean era in which we now live (Rev. 3:10). During this Laodicean era it is the job of the remaining Philadelphians is to warn the Laodiceans, as well as the rest of the world, of what is coming, and equally as important, why it is coming. It is not too late for the Laodiceans to repent, be converted and obey God’s Word unto salvation. Jesus said that those who do so until the end (of the age) will then be saved (Mat. 10:22). The Introduction page to this website lists some of the Satanic beliefs and practices that Jesus foresaw those of the end-time Laodicean church embracing. The list of abominations continues to grow as sexual perverts, baby murderers, wokeites, etc. are now being welcomed into the church in the name of “inclusion.” Satan is having a field day with Catholicism and Protestantism in these final days of this world. As did the Old Testament prophets, Jesus and His apostles, those whom God has raised up to take His Truth to the church and the world find themselves crying out to a spiritually deaf church and world.
There are a minutely few Philadelphians (God’s “little flock”, His “Very Elect,” His “remnant,” His “saints”) living during this Laodocean era. Due to modern technology, Jesus’ prophecy that “… this Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations, then the end will come” is being fulfilled as you read this. The Word of God is His spiritual light which illuminates the religious religious darkness that dominates the modern church world and the godless world it identifies with. This and other websites are sending the Lord’s pure Word to those that populate the Catholic/Protestant (Laodicean) Church System of this church era. Hopefully, some of the devil’s captives will embrace God’s marvelous light. My commission is to tell them God’s Truth found in His “find print” and call on them to come out of the Laocidean Church, repent, be converted and go to WORK–believe God’s Word and obey it. Only those who do so will be protected during the coming Tribulation and Lord’s Day. As the Scriptures tell us, what is coming on this sin-saturated world will be worse that all of the catastrophies that have previously taken place on earth COMBINED. Those who remain in the Laodicean (Catholic/Protestant) Church will find themselves in the midst of that prophesied world-wide terror that will dominate the final 3 1/2 years of this age. God gave us several “signs” that tell us where we are on the “end time clock.” All of the “signs” have been manifested except one. Read about it in Luke 21:20. Due to God’s love, a few will be protected during that time. In spite of His love, many will not be protected and will suffer untold horror. Which brings up a couple of questions.
Question #1: Does God love all people regardless of their attitude toward Him? Question #2: Does He love the obedient and disobedient with the same kind of love? He tells us in His “fine print.” L.J.
