Some time ago I posted a series titled The Ingathering–The Forming Of The End-time Church. Recent developments have created a need to update the information contained in the series.
On January 25, 2017, while observing the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Revolution, the Catholic Church came one step closer to unifying all religions into the one religious umbrella I warned about in the original Ingathering series. At a Catholic conclave Pope Francis shocked many people, including some in his own church, when he said: “As the Bishop of Rome and pastor of the Catholic Church, I would like to invoke mercy and forgiveness for the non-evangelical behavior of Catholics toward CHRISTIANS OF OTHER CHURCHES. At the same time I invite all Catholic brothers and sisters to forgive if today, or in the past, they have suffered offence by OTHER CHRISTIANS.“ Note it: The leader of the Catholic Church publically called non-Catholics “CHRISTIANS”–TWICE. Though the recognition of other churches was agreed upon during the Second Vatican Council in the 1960’s, never before has a Catholic church official, especially one of Pope Francis’ stature, openly declared Catholicism’s recognition of Protestant churches as “Christian.”
In the Ingathering series I pointed out that in order for the one-world religion prophesied in the Book of Revelation to emerge, a charismatic, tradition-breaking leader must rise to unprecedented international prominence from the world-wide social conglomerate known as “religion.” This man will need to draw all religions, as well as the non-religious masses, to himself and to his religion. This future (or possibly present) leader is called both the “False Prophet” and the “Second Beast” (Rev. 13:11-18). Today, as we approach the return of Jesus Christ, one globally-recognized religion has a globally-recognized leader who is globally welcomed with great pomp and ceremony–Catholicism and her pope. In The Ingathering I stated that the Catholic Pope reigning at the time of the end would be the False Prophet/Second Beast who would bring the masses of humanity together under Catholicism. The coming together of both the religious and the nonreligious is absolutely necessary in order to prepare the world for the coming of the First Beast/Antichrist (Rev. 13:1-10). The First Beast will be presented to the world as the promised Messiah who will solve all the world’s problems. L.J.
