Though there is no such thing as what the Institutional Church calls the “trinity” composed of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (see The Trinity), there is a type of trinity consisting of the Father, the Son and a true saint who are “IN” one another and “ONE” with one another. It is by being IN and ONE WITH Christ that faithful, obedient saints are spiritually “raised up together (with the Godhead) and allowed to sit together (with Them) in heavenly places.” (Eph. 2:6). In verse 5 Paul states that God has quickened (made spiritually alive) His saints together (as ONE) with Christ Who sits at the right hand of God in the northern heavens. In Ephesians 1:3 Paul stated that God the Father has blessed His saints “with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places IN CHRIST.” Just as the man Jesus of Nazareth now sits at the right hand of God in heaven, the saint sits with Them spiritually and receives “ALL SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS IN HIGH PLACES IN CHRIST.” This takes place only because the saint is “IN” and “ONE WITH” Them. With this Truth established by Jesus Christ Himself, the question then becomes: How does the true God seeker become “IN” and “ONE WITH” God and Christ? Because They want all men to join them in a holy triune union, They tell us how to do so. This is the point where most in professing Christendom are convinced by Satan to reject the path established by the Lord that leads to life and to embrace his (Satan’s) path leading to death. Just as the Serpent of Eden convinced Adam and Eve that they could walk his path and live eternally, he convinces God seekers today that they can practice their own brand of “Christianity” and “… not surely die.”
In order to become ONE WITH God we must follow the example of the Messiah. As a man like all other men, Jesus BECAME one with the Father, then resided in Him throughout His earthly life. This blessed status was not automatically awarded to Him at conception. He earned it by being obedient to God and suffering for doing so. This is confirmed in Hebrews 5:8 where it is written that He “LEARNED OBEDIENCE (to the Father) by the things that He suffered.” Having learned TO obey Him, Jesus then learned HOW to obey Him BECAUSE HE WANTED TO, not because He had to. Jesus, like every man, had two choices: to obey or not to obey. He chose to obey. His obedience was then tested through suffering, as is ours. He achieved holiness because He chose to do what was necessary to be holy, as do we. Obedience to God is absolutely necessary. Without obedience there can be no perfection, no righteousness, no holiness, no one-ness, no in-ness, no conversion, no rebirth, no salvation and no kingdom citizenship. Jesus chose to obey God, then learned how, as must we. He achieved holiness through obedience to Him, as must we. He suffered for doing so, as must we. God loved His human Son Jesus. However, Jesus could retain the Father’s love only by obeying Him, as must we. Jesus makes clear the fact that His love for the saint is conditional, as was the Father’s love for Him. In John 15:9,10 Jesus said: “If you keep My commandments you will abide in my love, even as I keep My Father’s commandments and (therefore) abide in His love.” As His fellow men, we abide in His and the Father’s love only by remaining “IN” Them and “ONE WITH” Them through obedience to Their Word–Their Law–Their Truth–Their Holy Bible.
