In John 5:30 Jesus of Nazareth–the Word (Jn. 1:1-4.14) Who comprised one-half of the Godhead until He came to earth as a man, said: “I seek the will of Him Who sent Me.” If, as many within professing Christendom believe, He retained His status as a God while on earth, to know God’s Will He needed only to ask Himself what He wanted to do. However, being 100% human, He had to SEEK the will of God. HE DID NOT AUTOMATICALLY AND BY NATURE KNOW HIS FATHER’S WILL. Jesus, a man, had to learn God’s will in the same way His fellow man learned it and continues to learn it today. See Jesus of Nazareth: God, Man or God-man? Having Biblically established the fact that Jesus was totally human, the question becomes: DO I WANT TO BE AS HE WAS WHILE ON EARTH? DO I WANT TO “WALK (LIVE) AS HE WALKED” AS THOSE WHO CALL THEMSELVES HIS PEOPLE ARE COMMANDED TO DO (1 Jn. 2:6)? The true God seeker says “yes.” The next question then becomes: HOW DO I DETERMINE GOD’S WILL? For those who would walk as Jesus walked, learning and obeying the Father’s will is their only agenda in this life. For these Truth-hungry souls, whom the Lord calls His “Very Elect,” nothing else matters. For them, all other things, people, etc. remain on life’s back burner. These Truth-seekers, the Lord tells us in Matthew 7:13,14, are few in number and will become fewer as we approach the end of the age. Just as God prophesied, as man looks inward for guidance he seeks his own will more and God’s will less.
I have noticed over the past decade or so that church leaders of all religious persuasions are spiritually wilting in the face of life’s ever-increasing challenges. What little faith they once had is fading rapidly. Due to both societal and religious pressure to be “inclusive” and “nonjudgmental” relative to moral issues, they are choosing to go with the religious flow in order to retain their positions of leadership. And as is the nature of man, when God’s Word ceases to be the ONLY standard of morality, man automatically falls under the influence of Satan. Man’s natural need for spiritual guidance is a spiritual vacuum. A vacuum demands to be filled. If man does not allow God to fill it, Satan fills it automatically. As a result of church’s rejection of the will of God, Satan has gained control over her, Adam and Eve being prime examples. As we are warned by God would happen, the pillars (priests/princes) of the world’s Christian establishment are falling. Their followers, being ignorant of God’s will, follow them into Satan’s abyss. As I pointed out in The Ingathering: The Rise of the End Time Church, many Protestant Churches are now looking to Catholicism for religious fellowship. This has to happen for there to be one universal church on earth when the Antichrist arrives. The False Prophet, who will perform miracles to “prove” that the Antichrist is in fact Jesus Christ, will, in my opinion, be the Catholic pope in office at that time. Having the power of a world government behind him, the False Prophet will exercise absolute authority over mankind. See Simon of Samaria: The Legacy. Except for God’s “Little Flock”–His Very Elect whom He will have taken to a place of safety–this “Second Beast” (False Prophet) will cause many to die at the hands of the “First Beast” (Antichrist) government. Over 50 million people were killed in the first Catholic Inquisition. The time of terror coming at us (reaping the whirlwind) will make that horror pale by comparison. L.J.
