God’s True Saints: Their Eternal Future (Pt. 1)

According to God’s Word, the whole of mankind will watch the following take place in the near future.  Jesus Christ and His angels will return to the earth’s atmosphere following the blast of a horn, a lightning flash from east to west and the voice of the archangel.  Immediately following their arrival the righteous dead will be resurrected and will ascend to where Christ and His angels await them in the clouds.  The righteous who are alive on earth will then join them.  Together they all descend to the Mount of Olives outside of Jerusalem.  From there they will enter the City of Peace where they will establish the Kingdom of God on earth, after which Christ and His saints will rule the earth for 1000 years.  Following two more resurrections and judgments, Christ and His Very Elect will rule the universe forever.  Read The Three Resurrections, The Resurrection of Christ, Life After Death, The Kingdom of God and God’s Very Elect: Future Caretakers of the Universe.  Key words: Three, Resurrection, After, Kingdom and Caretakers respectively.

The ultimate question concerns those who walked in holiness from Abel to those alive on earth at the time of Christ’s return.  These are they whom He calls HIS TRUE “SAINTS,” HIS “VERY ELECT,” HIS “REMNANT,” HIS “LITTLE FLOCK,” HIS “PECULIAR TREASURE,” HIS “HOLY PRIESTHOOD,” HIS “CHURCH.”  What will they be like following His return and their resurrection?  This group will include every righteous person who ever lived beginning with “righteous Abel” and ending with those living on earth at the time of His coming.  Let us study God’s Truth in order to learn about these people.

To fully understand their future lives we need to know 1) how Jesus conducted His life while on earth and 2) what is His life like today.  The key to envisioning the future eternity of Christ’s obedient saints is to know how He “walked” as a human being for 31 years and how He “walks” today.  This information is essential because His servants must “walk His walk” in this life in order to “walk His walk” in the future.   In summary, IN ORDER FOR THE SAINT’S FUTURE WALK TO MATCH HIS, THE SAINT’S PRESENT WALK MUST MATCH HIS.  This website and this ministry are dedicated to the teaching of these Biblical Truths to those with eyes to see and ears to hear God’s Truth, which is His Holy Word (Jn. 17:17).

In both sociological and Biblical arenas there is a law that determines the moral characteristics chosen by human beings.  This powerful force is called The Law of Attraction.  There is a saying that expresses this phenomenon: “Emulation is the highest form of flattery.”  To “emulate” another person is to COPY that person’s “walk”–his/her character, life-style, words, acts, etc. because one is attracted to it.  To “flatter” is to VOICE one’s admiration for that person’s “walk.”  The Apostle John, writing under the inspiration and power of God’s Holy Spirit, said that if we claim to be servants of Jesus Christ we must “walk as He walked” (emulate His walk) while on earth as a human being (1 Jn. 2:6).  How did Jesus conduct Himself (“walk”–His thoughts, words and acts) as a man?  Jesus Himself said that in order to join Him in the Kingdom of God one must “… overcome (Satan and his world) even as I overcame” (them)–Rev. 3:21.  This all-important, though totally rejected information must be learned, believed and obeyed in order to qualify for salvation and rebirth upon the return of Jesus Christ.  This Biblical Truth is rejected outright by professing Christendom.  Other “lies” rejected by the church are as follows.

A passage written by the Apostle Paul (Rom. 8:12-19) begins with him addressing Christ’s spiritual “BRETHREN.”  In Matthew 12:46-50 Christ defined His true brethren as “… they who DO THE WILL OF MY FATHER ….”  God’s Holy Bible is God’s will in written form.  Jesus was His will in human form.  TO BE CHRIST’S SPIRITUAL BROTHER ONE MUST ALSO BE GOD’S WILL IN HUMAN FORM.  Christ’s brethren obey God’s Word (will) which Jesus called “Truth” in John 17:17.  Jesus professed to His disciples, whom God Himself had chosen (Jn. 17:9,11,24), that He would die for His “FRIENDS.”  He then said to them: “You are My friends IF YOU DO WHATSOEVER I COMMAND YOU” (Jn. 15:13,14).  His message to them and us could not be more clear.  These two God-breathed (inspired) statements should remove all doubt as to what it takes to be Christ’s “brethren.”  He died ONLY for His brethren.

In Romans 8:12-14 Paul states that a believer can live eternally only by putting the flesh (“old man”–6:6) to death by being led by (obeying) the Holy Spirit.  As verse 14 states, only those who obey the Spirit are true “sons of God.”  While He was on earth Jesus was the only Son of God.  Upon His death, others were then able to become God’s children by receiving the Holy Spirit and obeying it until the end.  Nothing has changed.  Today one can become a child of God ONLY by being converted, receiving and obeying His Holy Spirit until the end (Mat. 10:22).  It is ONLY through the power of the Holy Spirit that mortal man is able to “walk” as Christ walked as a man (1 Jn. 2:6) and to “overcome (Satan) as I (He) overcame (him).”  Only those who do will “… sit with Me (Jesus) on My throne” in the Kingdom of God.

I have been ridiculed for believing, speaking and writing such Biblical Truths.  Sin-addicted “Sinners Saved By Grace” view those Scriptures as nothing more than God’s wishful thinking. SSBG profess to be “Christians.”  Does the Lord agree with them?  Does what they believe matter to Him?  Does He require that a person love Him in order to be saved?  Does He require a believer to prove his love by obeying His Word (will)?  In John 14:23,24; 15:9,10 Jesus answered those questions when He said to His disciples: “If a man loves Me, he will keep My Words, and (because of this) My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make our abode with Him.  He who does not love Me does not obey My Words.  The Words you hear Me speak are not Mine, but His who sent Me” (14:23,24).  “As the Father has loved Me, so I have loved you (disciples).  Continue in My love” (15:9).  We can remain in His love by keeping His and His Father’s Word/commandments/Truth–fulfilling His will.

A few questions need to be answered.  Why did the Father love Jesus?  How did He abide in the Father’s love?  Why did Jesus love the disciples?  How does a disciple abide in Christ’s love? John 15:10 tells us: “IF YOU KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS YOU WILL (THEREBY) ABIDE IN MY LOVE, EVEN AS I HAVE KEPT MY FATHER’S COMMANDMENTS AND (THEREBY) ABIDE IN HIS LOVE” (vs 10).  Notice that the disciples could remain in Christ’s love ONLY if they obeyed His commandments (Words).  As a man, Jesus was able to remain in God’s love ONLY by obeying His commandments (Words).  This is what John meant when He said that in order to be God’s true children and remain in His (and Christ’s) love, WE MUST WALK AS HE (JESUS) WALKED AND OVERCOME (SATAN) AS HE OVERCAME (HIM) (1 Jn. 2:6/ Rev. 3:21).

The above stated Scriptures tell us that, just as Christ’s eternal future depended on His earthly “walk,” the eternal future of the saint depends on his earthly “walk.”  This is the theme of this website which I have stated many times.

Now let us look at the other aspect of the saint’s earthly walk–the payoff–known Scripturally as “the inheritance.”  Here we need to clarify two terms.  An “heir” is one who has the “promise” of an “inheritance.”  An “inheritor” is one who “has received” the promised “inheritance.”  With that information fixed in our minds, let us see what God says about the eternal payoff for those who walk and overcame as did Jesus of Nazareth who, being a man like all other men, was tempted like all other men (Heb. 2:18), but Who did not sin (Heb. 4:15).   By resisting Satan’s temptations to sin, Jesus qualified to be God’s Messiah and man’s Savior.  Because He, as a man, suffered the same temptations as all human beings, He is now able to help those who continuously war against Satan to defeat him and walk in holiness (Heb. 2:18).  Through His Holy Spirit He enables the saint to overcome his adversary–the devil.  Contrary to universal church opinion, He did not die so that we could be overcome by the devil (sin) and get away with it.  JESUS WAS 100% HUMAN AND HAD NO ADVANTAGE OVER OTHER HUMANS.  Satan does not want us to know this.  He wants us to believe that we cannot walk as Jesus walked and cannot overcome him (Satan) as He did.  Holiness, he tells us from pulpit and podium, is not only not unnecessary, it is impossible.  This is only one of many lies God’s enemy has put forward by his false prophets as “the word of God.”  And as Jesus warned in Matthew 24:4, he has “deceived many.” L.J.
