Chapter seven verses eleven through twenty-eight: This passage has been used by the Counterfeit Church in a vain attempt to do away with the Law. Being ignorant of the Bible in general and the Law–the first 5 books of the Old Testament (the Tora) summarized by the Ten Commandments) in particular, church people have noted that with the advent of “another Priest “(Jesus) there was a “change also in the law.” This is true, for the Law (Tora) dictated that all Old Testament priests be taken from the tribe of Levi, making it a priestly monarchy in which the priesthood was handed down from the father to his son. Jesus, on the other hand, came from the tribe if Judah. Therefore there had to be enacted a change in the LAW OF THE PRIESTHOOD, not the Law in general. Contrary to church teachings, a change in the priesthood law did not change the entire Law. Contrary to church teaching, the “disannulling of the (priesthood-tribe) commandment” did not do away with the entire Law. Unwilling to study God’s Word for His Truth, parishioners have listened to and believed Satan’s false prophets who have scratched their itching ears for many generations, telling them that “the law was nailed to the cross.” See God’s Royal Law.

The law concerning the Levitical priesthood, which dictated that the priesthood be handed down from generation to generation, produced many bad priests, the sons of Eli being prime examples–1 Sam. 1-4). Therefore these priests were incapable of making anyone perfect. Because Jesus came from the tribe of Judah the quality of priest changed also. The new Priest gave men “a better hope” and a “better testament.” Also, the priesthood no longer changed with the death of the elder Levite, but rather became permanent in the man Jesus who was named by God as His and His saints’ High Priest forever.

This High Priest, because he has not known sin, is able to save men to the uttermost by making intercession for them because He lived as they live and suffered the same temptations, trials and tests as have they. Also, and of equal importance, is the fact that the same Holy Spirit (power) of God that enabled Jesus to walk in righteousness is available to righteousness-seeking saints because of His death and resurrection. Jesus made available to men the same overcoming powers that He Himself utilized while walking the earth as a man. See Acts 1:4-8.

In verse 26 we find a statement that is overlooked by all “sinners saved by grace.” Here we are told that God’s High Priest is holy, harmless, undefiled and SEPARATE FROM SINNERS, including sinners in the church. Isaiah 59:2 explains that sin separates men from God by forming a wall of separation between them. Only true repentance and true conversion removes the wall.  Sinners saved by grace are separated from God the Father and are therefore separated from God the Son. And since all church people are sinners by their own admission, THE GODHEAD HAS NO PLACE IN THE INSTITUTIONAL CHURCH, BEING SEPARATED FROM SINNING PARISHIONERS. The supposed presence of Father and Son in the church is a figment of parishioners’ imagination based on ignorance of Their Word. Note that Jesus IS SEPARATE from sinners–present tense. He IS (now) separate from church sinners and therefore IS separate from the church. One will note in Revelation 3:14-20 that Jesus is standing AT THE DOOR (OUTSIDE) OF THE LAODICEAN CHURCH calling to those inside to join Him. HE WILL NOT JOIN THEM. He will not “touch the unclean thing,” which is what He commands of His true saints today (2 Cor. 6:17). As shown in an earlier posting, the Laodicean church was the last church in the Revelation sequence and represented today’s end time church system which will see the return of Jesus Christ. Those in Catholicism/Protestantism constitute the final (Laodicean) church of the age which Jesus will destroy at His coming. L.J.
