In Matthew 7:21 we find Jesus addressing two deadly errors that are hailed as “Bible truths” within professing Christendom. The first error involves what it takes to make it to the churchite’s final destination. The second involves the location of that destination. Jesus reminds us that accepting Him as one’s Savior and believing what the Bible says about Him will not save the soul. The true seeker of Truth will note that the attaining of salvation requires a great deal of “doing”–obeying the Father’s will as expressed in His Word. The church’s all-faith-and-no-works heresy is refuted many times in Scripture. A couple of examples will make this clear. We know that only Christ’s spiritual brethren/friends will spend eternity with Him and His Father. In Matthew 12:50 Jesus stated that only those who DO the will of His Father are His spiritual brethren. In John 15:14 He identified His friends as those who DO whatsoever He tells them to DO.
The second error to be addressed in this posting involves the destination of the saved. Church people have been told for some 1700 years that the saved–anyone who has joined the “right” church–will spend eternity in heaven. Nowhere in God’s Word do we find such a statement. To the contrary, we are told that true saints will inherit the Kingdom of God which will be established in the Promised Land upon the return of Jesus Christ. See The Kingdom of God. It is this kingdom that we are to seek first of all, along with the righteousness required to enter it (Mat. 6:33). We are told in 1 Corinthians 7:19 that we can gain righteousness only by keeping the commandments of God–His Law. God’s Law as recorded in the Holy Bible from Genesis to Revelation is summarized in the Ten Commandments.
Those of us who have a history with the Institutional Church (Catholicism/Protestantism) have been repeatedly warned against doing “works” in order to be saved, and that such works are an abomination to the Lord. This is one of Satan’s most effective lies designed to keep God seekers from learning His Truth. As His Truth–His Word (Jn. 17:17)–tells us repeatedly, it is only by “doing” prescribed “works,” known religiously as “legalism,” that we can enter God’s kingdom (Mat. 12:50/Jn. 15:14/1 Cor. 7:19). No one will enter that kingdom simply by taking Jesus as their personal Savior and having faith in him. He destroys this church “truth” in James 2:14,17,18,20: “What does it profit, my brethren, if a man says he has faith but has no works? Can faith save him?” “Even so, faith without works is dead (faith).” “Show me your faith without works and I will show you my faith by my works.” “But will you not know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” In verses 22,23 we are told that Abraham’s faith was made perfect by works. It is by works that a man is justified (freed from sin), not by faith alone.
As I have stated many times: WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED IN CHURCH IS NOT MERELY WRONG, BUT DEAD WRONG–AS DEAD AS THE FAITH GENERATED BY YOUR FALSE PROPHETS. This posting has reminded you of only a few of the numerous errors by which Satan has deceived the church and thereby gained control over her. The only solution to this deadly problem is to come out of her and be separated from her. Concerning Eden’s forbidden fruit, God told Adam and Eve not to even “touch it” (Gen. 3:3). Death, He warned, would be the result. He tells those in the Counterfeit Church the same thing relative to the false church. They are to have nothing to do with her because, He states, what relationship do believers have with unbelievers? the righteous with the unrighteous? Jesus with Satan? God’s Temple (saints) with idols? “Therefore, come ye (God seekers) out from among them (church people) and be ye separate, says the Lord, touch not the unclean thing. (Then) I will receive you and will be a Father to you and (then) you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty” (2 Cor. 6:14-18). True God-seekers will take these Scriptures to heart. All others will go back to church. L.J.
