God’s Letters To The Church Eras (Pt. 7)

The Laodicean church era came on the scene during the 1980’s following the prophesied falling away (2 Thes. 2:3) of the majority within the Philadelphia Church.  Following the apostasy a minutely few true believers–God’s remnant–continued to believe and obey His Holy Word.  The Laodicean era does not include Catholicism/Protestantism in that they are not part of God’s church.  The church had rejected most of His Word following the rise of Catholicism in the fourth century.  When the so-called Protestant Revolution caused a split in professing Christendom, the Protestants  retained most of Catholicism’s heathen beliefs and customs with them when they left “in protest.”  As the saying goes, the fruit does not fall far from the tree.  As a result of their religious ties to the mother church, Protestantism became no more than Catholics in disguise as this website has proven.

Because He wanted His remenant to grow in size, God used wars (both foreign and domestic), disease epidemics, financial disasters, floods, droughts, fire, ice, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. to warn those who professed Him and called themselves by His name.  These descendants of the Children of Israel have been warned time and again to return to their God.  But to no avail.  Having rejected His Word in favor of church doctrine the world-wide church has sown the wind over the past several hundred years and is beginning to reap the whirlwind.  The nations in which the church is found will pay a heavy price because of the Truth-rejecting churches within their respective borders.  Just as each nation’s church people have been individually reaping the cursed fruit produced by their evil seeds over the years, the nations themselves are now beginning to feel the wrath of God.  As goes the church, so go the nations.  As I have written several times, the United States was established to be God’s primary light in a degenerate world. Because she has failed to perform her God-commanded duties, she is about to be defeated militarily resulting in millions being slaughtered.  Those who survive will be taken to the lands of the victors as slaves where they will die.  Thus says the Lord.  But she is not alone.  Note the turmoil being experienced in the world’s so-called “Christian nations.”

As Revelation 3:14-22 reveal, those within the end-time Laodicean church are in fact the enemies of God, as are those within his Catholic/Protestant system.  The featured Scripture passage will show that, with the exception of the Philadelphia remnant, the entire religious culture that calls itself “the church” is a Satan-empowered, man-created, God-rejecting religious system that, in the eyes of God, is worse than all other false religions combined because she has God’s Truth and claims to believe it while telling the world most of It cannot be taken at face value.  God said that on the Day of Judgment the people of Sodom and Gomorrah will fare better than the world’s professing Christians because the  did not have His Word to direct them as does the Counterfeit Church.  The people of Nineveh will judge false Christians because they repented after hearing the preaching of Jonah.  The modern day Laodicean church refuses to hear the Word of God.  Those who do hear refuse to believe what is written in their Bibles.  As a result, He is beginning to pour out His wrath on them.

Revelation 3:14 begins God’s letter to the Laodiceans.  Here we find Him pointing out that their works that were both good and bad, hot and cold–their walk (following church doctrine) did not match their talk (quoting Scripture, etc.).  Because of their hypocrisy He would cast them into the Great Tribulation.  He says to the Laodiceans, along with Catholics and Protestants, “Because you say, ‘I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing,’ you do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked.'”  In other words, all that glitters is not gold.  Those tens of thousands of churches dotting the global landscape are nothing more than citadels of corruption.

In verses 18-21 the Lord assures those of the Laodicean (current) era that, if they will repent and turn from their evil ways, He will forgive their sins and embrace them.  Note that He “stand(s) at (outside) the door (of the church) and knock(s).”  This means that He is not actively involved in their religion which puts forth man’s perverted version of His gospel.  This is not a new problem.  The Apostle Paul attacked this same kind of heresy in his letter to the Galatians (1:6) written about 25 years after the founding of the New Covenant Church in 31 A.D.  Satan’s false gospel first spoken in the Garden of Eden was believed and obeyed during the age of the prophets and was carried over into the New Covenant Church where it continues to wreak havoc in professing Christendom today.  The vast majority of those who profess the Lord Jesus Christ believe and obey the devil’s gospel. It is for this reason that only a few (God’s remnant) will be welcomed into paradise (Mat. 7:13,14).

In Revelation 3:21 the Lord tells the Laodiceans that if they repent of their sins and “overcome” (Satan) in the future they with sit Him on His throne in the Kingdom of God.  God is merciful and patient.  However, His mercy and patience have limits.  He ends His message to the final church era with these Words: “He that has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”  God’s Philadelphia remnant is listening.  Is anyone else?  L.J.
