Chapter five verses five and six: By His power–His Holy Spirit–God affected the impregnation of a woman named Mary at a specific time. This is verified by His statement: “You are My Son; THIS DAY (TODAY) I have begotten You.” This proves that at the moment of conception–begettal-He Who would be called Jesus of Nazareth became a living human being in the sight of God, which leads us to the subject of abortion.
Nowhere in Scripture does God call a “glob of meaningless cells” His Son. This is one of the descriptions of a fetus put forth by pro-abortionists. However, as the Scriptures tell us, God does not see things their way. In fact, His point of view is the exact opposite of theirs. “This day” (“today)” proves that there was a specific point in time in which Jesus was conceived. At that point in time God’s Messiah became, as His Father said in the following verse, “… a priest forever ….” Nowhere in Scripture are we told that God made a priest out of any entity other than a human being. ON THE DAY HE WAS CONCEIVED, GOD REFERRED TO A ONE-DAY-OLD FERTALIZED EGG AS “YOU,” DESIGNATED THE EGG AS MALE AND TOLD HIM THAT HE WAS, AT THAT MOMENT, HIS ETERNAL HIGH PRIEST. Let us search the Scriptures to find more proof that the fertilized egg Mary was carrying was, ON THAT DAY the Savior of the world.
In Luke 1:26-50 we read of an episode that involved the virgin Mary, the angel Gabriel, the Holy Spirit and Mary’s cousin Elizabeth. The narrative begins with Gabriel telling Mary that the Holy Spirit–“the power of the Almighty”–would impregnate. Later, Gabriel told her, she would give birth to the Son of God. Then Gabriel told Mary that her cousin Elizabeth had “… ALSO conceived a son ….” Note that Gabriel called Elizabeth’s six-month-old “babe” and Mary’s days old “babe” their respective “sons.”
After speaking to Mary Gabriel departed from her and the Holy Spirit impregnated her. Overjoyed, Mary left immediately on a short journey to where Elizabeth lived. Upon arrival Mary called out her salutation to Elizabeth, at which time the “babe”–six month old John–“leapt in her (Elizabeth’s) womb.” Why, if both Mary’s Son and Elizabeth’s son were not yet human beings? But they were, as Elizabeth proved when she said to Mary, “… BLESSED is the fruit of your womb ….” Elizabeth called the hours-old fertilized egg “BLESSED.” She also called Mary “… the mother of MY LORD ….” Note that Elizabeth used the present tense in describing what Mary carried in her womb. Elizabeth proclaimed that Mary was carrying her (Elizabeth’s) Lord at that moment. Mary further proves the abortionists wrong by saying, “For He that is mighty HAS DONE (past tense) great things unto me …,” referring to the moment, hours earlier, when His Holy Spirit impregnated her.
Incredibly, the majority of people in the United States, including many church people, believe that man has the right to sacrifice the unborn on the alter of convenience. The first time I heard anyone speak on the subject of abortion the speaker was an ordained, seminary-trained minister–AND HE WAS IN FAVOR OF IT. Though the movement began small, today millions of so-called “Christians” advocate the murder of innocents created in God’s image. According to these people, both Mary and Elizabeth, due to their unusual situations, would have been justified in aborting their sons. At present in the United States, some 60,000,000 (and counting) human beings have been ripped from their mothers’ wombs and either thrown in a trash bin or cut up and sold to the highest bidder. Indeed, America has sown the wind. The whirlwind–God’s wrath–continues to gather force. Soon Satan will be allowed to express his hatred for mankind and will do so for 2 1/2 years. Then, for one year, Scripturally called “the Lord’s Day,” and “the Day of the Lord,” God will pour out His wrath on the nation, beginning with the church. The entire world, especially the so-called “Christian world” will pay a terrible price for its rebellion against Him. L.J.
