By reviewing the writings of those who first came to the New World we know that they came to establish another Israel in a new land. Our founding fathers made clear the fact that it was God, not themselves, Who was raising up this fledgling nation in the wilderness, exactly as He did when He sent ancient Israel across the Jordan River into the Land of Canaan. If those who sacrificed, worked, fought and died to push the nation forward could see what she has become spiritually they would regret having made the sacrifice. First, the Catholics were allowed to step onto her shores, thereby permanently weakening the spiritual fabric of the colonies. Later, the curse of slavery introduced the curse of African religions to the new nation. More recently, Muslims, Hindus and other various North African and Middle Eastern ‘isms” were introduced. When combined with Catholicism and Protestantism (Catholicism by another name) the result is a Satanic cesspool. When viewing the “perfect religious storm” he has created, their god can only smile.
As a little leaven leavens the whole loaf, we who believe and obey the Biblical God find ourselves outnumbered millions to one by Satan’s people. We in the United States are not alone. There are true believers in many who are also “… sheep among wolves,” several billions of whom believe themselves to be God’s sheep. These national self-inflicted wounds, instead of being cured by God’s healing Word, continue to fester and grow as religious people wallow in the mire of that which calls itself by such names as Christianity, Hinduism, Mohammadism, Buddhism, atheism, etc.
Globally, the wounds inflicted on sinful man by the Biblical God can be viewed 24-7-365 on a variety of information platforms. Around-the-clock, up-to-the-minute and up-to-date fatality figures are undeniable signs that the Lord’s wrath is being poured out on all of mankind, including the segment which calls itself “the church.” The honest viewer of world news cannot help but notice that those calling themselves “Christians” are suffering exactly as are those who call themselves by other religious names. This is proof that God places all of the world’s religions in the same category–heathen.
As I have done before, I will refer the reader to the definitive passages of Scripture where the Almighty explains in graphic detail what is happening to the world today and why. I refer to Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28. Let us recall that God preserved a record of His dealings with ancient Israel to serve as a teaching tool for the end-time church (1 Cor. 10:11). Recall also the New Testament Church was founded on the teachings of the OLD TESTAMENT PROPHETS as well as the New Testament apostles (Eph. 2:20). Referring to the prophets, the Apostle Peter wrote that “Holy men of old spoke (and wrote) as they were moved upon by the Holy Spirit” (2 Pet. 1:21). Recall also that “All Scripture (including the Old Testament) is inspired by God and profitable for doctrine, for correction, for reproof and for training in righteousness” (2 Tim. 3:14-16).
In the first dozen or so verses of Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 God PROMISED His people (then and now) what He would do FOR them if they OBEYED HIM. In the remaining verses of those chapters He WARNED them of what He would do TO them of they DISOBEYED HIM. Reading those chapters is like reading today’s newspaper. God is pouring out His wrath on man, especially religious man, because of his rebellion against the Law by which He tells both the churched and the unchurched how to find, follow and serve Him so as to qualify for salvation. Man has refused to obey Him, which explains what we see unfolding repeatedly on the world’s information highway. According to Matthew 24:4-12 and the Book of Revelation–both spoken by Jesus Christ–there is much worse to come. In Ezekiel 7:1-4; 23-27 God spoke through the prophet, telling those who call themselves by His name that the end was coming upon them, that His anger would be poured out upon them as a recompense for their sins. He said that He would have no mercy upon them as He poured out evil upon them. He noted that the land was full of blood and their cities were filled with violence. He warned that He would bring the worst of the heathen into their land who would possess it, take their homes and holy places and end all ministry in their midst. Destruction would overtake them, even when they are talking peace. The ministry and the Law would be taken from them, along with the wisdom of the elderly. Leaders would mourn and be destitute. The people would be troubled. He ended His warning with these words: “I will do to them according to their sins, AND THEY WILL REALIZE THAT I AM THE LORD (Who is punishing them). Sound familiar? Only when this destruction and death reaches its apex will people recognize that it is the Lord Who was “speaking” to them. As the old hymn says: “You can run on for a long time, but be sure that God Almighty gonna cut you down.” Wake up, world. L.J.
