Many Americans relish the fact that over the generations since her founding the United States has become what is called “Pan Religious,” meaning that she welcomes any and all religions to her shores, and that making her a more “balanced” nation spiritually is leading to a more a positive outcome. “Freedom of religion” has become the mantra of those who believe that the nation was founded on a “come one-come all” religious mindset. But did the founding fathers who, by their own admission, were operating under the direction of the God of the Holy Bible, intend for any religion other than Christianity to thrive in what was then called “New Israel?” Knowing that God had command His “chosen (Israelite) people” to have nothing to do with heathen religions, and knowing that He physically separated the Israelites from all Gentile groups with orders to remain separated, did the founding fathers assume that He had intended for any religion other than Biblical Christianity to be established in their midst?
Fast forward to modern times. Accepting the fact that America is the most spiritually mongrelized nation on earth, let us examine the writings of the founding fathers to determine if they were to allow the morass of heathen religions, including Catholicism/Protestantism, to dot the landscape of the nation.
Note that the expression: “One Nation Under God” is singular in scope–God, not gods. George Washington, America’s “founding father,” recognized that the Biblical God had ordained and orchestrated the establishment of what would become the United States of America. When offered a crown by those who elected him the nation’s first president, he replied: “America already has a king; God is our king.”
Concerning the establishment of the original colonies, we find in 1601 England’s King James I issuing the colonies’ original charter with these words: “We greatly commending and graciously accepting of their desire for the furtherance of so noble a work, which may be the providence of Almighty God, hereafter tend to the glory of His divine Majesty in propagating the Christian religion … for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian religion.” Though England was reluctant to grant the colonies their freedom from the mother country, the king recognized that God had ordained their founding, and that they were established for the purpose of exalting Him before the world through the Christian religion. The United States of America was ordained by God to be His “light on a hill” that would be his national representative to the heathen world.
In 1602 the Pilgrims expressed that sentiment when composing the Mayflower Compact, the written document which would one day become the foundational statement from which the United States Constitution would evolve. The Compact began with these words: “Having undertaken for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith ….” Knowing their ancestry, the Pilgrim fathers called themselves … “the seed of Abraham, God’s servant, and the children of Jacob.” Note that they acknowledged that they were the biological descendants of Jacob, whom God renamed “Israel.” They were fully aware of their biological and spiritual ancestry. THEY KNEW THAT THEY WERE ISRAELITES–GOD’S CHOSEN PEOPLE. Read Who and Where is Israel Today? Key word–Today.
Relative to the founding of the new nation, the writings of those who planted the Lord’s “light on a hill” in the New World are rife with references to God, never gods, and the Bible, never any other religious writing. Nowhere are we told by them or their chroniclers that they envisioned a time when any other god or religion would be found within the nation. No other god or religion is mentioned anywhere in reference to the daily lives of the people of what would become the United States of America. Every reference to the people being allowed to worship as they saw fit referred to the REJECTION OF A STATE-MANDATED RELIGION. The early settlers came to the New World to escape from the state-dictated religion they had been forced to recognize in England. In England the people were forced to pay homage to either Catholicism or Protestantism, depending on the religion of the reigning king or queen. Those of the opposing religion suffered at the hands of the reigning church-state consortium. America’s founding fathers were determined to prevent such a church-state union from developing. Thomas Jefferson’s reference to “the separation of church and state” referred to the nation’s rejection of state-enforced religion whether it be Catholicism or Protestantism. No religion other than Christianity is mentioned in the writings of the nation’s originators. That fact should tell us something.
It was only later, when liberalism in all its forms began to raise its Satanic head that the nation began to move away from God and toward man, specifically liberal man, for its leadership. Beginning in the church, Satan’s liberality slowly spread like an undetected virus throughout the political and social realms of the colonies.
Today one can see that the early seeds of liberalism have come to fruition in every segment of the society. As “leaven leavens the whole loaf,” the leaven of false religion is causing America to rot from within. Political correctness, along with a belief in “subjective (personally-determined) truth,” has torn the nation apart at the spiritual, social and political seams. Personal truth has replaced the the Lord’s subjective Truth found in the Holy Bible (Jn. 17:17) as the nation’s standard of thought, word and deed. God is now persona non grata (unwelcomed) within the United States, as is His Book of Subjective Truth. I stated long ago that the day would come when all references to the Biblical God would be removed from all federal and state platforms. Schools that receive federal funds have already removed any reference to Him from their midst. Many colleges and universities have done the same. I predict that the two references to the Lord found on our currency will eventually be removed. Freedom of Religion has become freedom FROM religion within the nation God designated as His “light of the Gentiles” (Isa. 42:6; 60:3) which He founded in the New World so many generations ago. Her light has become darkness (Jn. 3:19), and “great is that darkness” (Mat. 6:23).
The Almighty cries out to those in the devil’s religious darkness: “Seek the Lord while He may be found.” You will not find Him in Catholicism/Protestantism. You will not find Him in the Babylonian edifices inhabited by professing Christendom on what Roman Emperor Constantine called “the venerable day of the sun”–Sunday–the day sun worshipers worship Tammuz–the sun god. Nor will you find Him in any of Satan’s other religions. God commands that you “Come out of her (Satan’s religions) and be separate (from them): touch not that unclean thing.” Then, and only then, “… I will be their God and they will be My people” (2 Cor. 6:17).
