Approximately half of the American public is fixated on concepts such as diversity, inclusion, moral equivalentcy, etc. to the point that this supposed “One Nation Under God” (the “God” in whom 70% supposedly “trust”) welcomes any and all religions with open arms. Half of the nation’s citizens encourage them to break our immigration laws by promising to feed, house, medicate and educate them while hiding them from the nation’s law enforcers, all paid for by the taxpayer. This mindset has found a home in the realm of religion. “Freedom of religion” has become the mantra for those who believe that this nation was founded on a religious “come one, come all” mindset.
But did the founding fathers, under the leadership of the Biblical God, intend for any religion other than Bible-based, God-governed Christianity to come to America’s shores? Accepting the fact that the United States is no longer a Christian nation due to her religious mongrelization, let us examine the writings of the founding fathers to determine if they envisioned the morass of heathen religions that pollute the spiritual air of this God-created, once-blessed nation.
Note that the expressions, “One Nation Under God” and “In God We Trust” refer to a singular God, not multiple gods. George Washington recognized that the Biblical God–the King of Kings–had ordained the establishment of this nation. When offered a crown and the honor of being addressed as “king,” humbly declined, replying: “America already has a King; God is our King.”
Returning to the establishment of the original colonies, we find in 1601 King James Issued the first charter with these words: “We greatly commending and graciously accepting of their desires for the furtherance of so noble a work, which may be the providence of Almighty God, hereafter tend to the glory of His divine Majesty in propagating the Christian religion … for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian religion.”
In 1602 the Pilgrims expressed a similar sentiment by beginning the Mayflower Compact–the nation’s foundational document–with these words: “Having undertaken for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith ….” The Pilgrims were convinced that they were operating under the direct guidance of the Biblical God, and that they themselves were in fact “… the seed of Abraham, God’s servant, and the children of Jacob” (Israel). As I showed in the series titled Who and Where is Israel Today? this nation was primarily established by the Israelite tribe of Manasseh, the elder son of Jacob’s son Joseph whom he named the head of the Israelite nation.
Throughout the writings of our national originators we find numerous references to God, never gods, and to the Bible alone as their foundational standard. Neither in their writings nor in the writings of their chroniclers are we told that they envisioned a time when any other god or any other religion would be allowed to take root on the continent. No other god or religion is mentioned in reference to what would become the United States of America. Every reference to the people being allowed to worship as they saw fit referred to THE REJECTION OF A STATE RELIGION to which all would be required to accept, as had been the case in England. The mother country had for many years endured a series of Catholic versus Protestant conflicts directed by the sitting monarch whose religion was enforced by crown rule. Our forefathers were determined to prevent that from happening in God’s “New Israel.”
It was only later, when liberalism began to raise its ugly head that, first the church, then the political system, then the society began to fall away from God, thereby allowing Satan to gain control of the religious system. The result is a totally secular, God-rejecting nation in the process of rotting from within. Incredibly, it has been the church that has led the nation to her downfall. Following the church’s rejection of Bible Truth in favor of man-concocted church doctrine as her standard, the society has adopted man’s concept of right and wrong as the ever-evolving foundation of national life. Using his false prophets as front men, Satan gained control of, first the church, then the nation. Because “as goes the church goes, so goes the nation,” the once God-centered light to the world has followed her religious leaders into Satan’s darkness. Incredibly, both church and state believe they are God’s light. Never doubt the power of Satan to deceive. As we are told in Revelation 12:9, Satan has deceived the whole world. His most prized prey was the Institutional Church which is today totally under his control.
Readers, seek God while and where He may be found. Now, as this age is grinding to a merciful close, is the time. The next consideration is where He can be found. You will not find Him in professing Christendom’s houses of heathenism. Nor will you find Him in any other pagan edifice. Come out of Satan’s religion and be separate. Have noting to do with Catholicism/Protestantism or any of his other “isms.” Embrace the Biblical God, learn His Word and obey it. Then, and only then, He will be your God and you will be His people (2 Cor. 6:14-18).
