Irony is the use of words to mean the exact opposite of what is expected. History’s ultimate irony involves a promise of eternal life that has in fact produced eternal death. In the third chapter of Genesis we find the Serpent of Eden telling Eve that rebellion against God’s command would result in life, not death as He had declared. With Eve’s acceptance of the “truth” of the Serpent’s statement, irony burst onto the world scene and has never waned. In fact, the Serpent’s (Satan’s) first utterance of irony has become the foundation upon which men have built the modern church system. This fact has been proven Scripturally time and time again in this website and on my YouTube site which can be seen at proveallthingsofgod. Aside from this “death is in fact life” Satanic “truth,” there is another aspect to the Genesis three conversation that I have never heard taught. God revealed this Truth to me only yesterday (5/13/2019). Let us take a look at this hidden Truth and prove once again that Satan must never be underestimated.

Note the words spoken by the Serpent to Eve in the Genesis 3:1-4: “Has God said that you cannot eat of every tree of the garden?” To which Eve replied: “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden, but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden God has said, ‘You shall not eat of it, nor shall you touch it, LEST YOU DIE.'” Then the Serpent said to her: “You shall not surely die” (for eating the forbidden fruit). In the following verse he makes a statement that every Sunday School child can recite. However, it is what he does not say that is the focus of this series. What the Serpent does not say has sent multiplied billions of salvation seekers straight into the arms of God’s enemy. But first, notice that the Serpent lured Eve with the promise of divinity, promising her that by eating of the forbidden tree she would become as God (a god), able to determine good and evil. The two main characteristics of God are 1) the power to create and 2) the power to decide what constitutes good and evil. Within a generation of the establishment of the New Covenant Church Satan had convinced many parishioners that, though characteristic number one was still in effect, number two had gone by the wayside. Having embraced Satan’s theology–that sin would result in eternal life–churchman had assumed the power to determine good and evil–had become a god. Unknown to the modern church, idolatry (defined in the first commandment) was born as a result of the Genesis 3 conversation. Man has nailed that commandment, along with the other nine, to Christ’s cross. Having thereby destroyed God’s standard by which He determines sin (see 1 Jn. 3:4), today’s religionist does not know that he is living in the most egregious of sins–idolatry. Man has replaced God.

But something else happened during Satan and Eve’s conversation that is of equal importance–SATAN AGREED WITH GOD. Notice that he did not say that rebelling against the command of God was not a sin. HE SIMPLY SAID THAT DOING SO (COMMITTING SIN) WOULD NOT HAVE THE RESULT THAT GOD HAD PROMISED–DEATH. Instead, man,  though having sinned, would live forever. In other words, though God’s Words were true, Adam and Eve could disobey them and “… not surely die,” meaning that they would live forever. This magical switch would be pulled off by changing His Words ever so slightly.

This is what the Apostle Paul was referring to in his letter to the church at Galatia which was written only 22 years after Christ established His church in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost 31 A.D. Let us see what God’s premier Biblical writer said to the Galatian church. In chapter 1 verses 6,7 he gets right to the point: “I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him (God) Who called you in the grace of Christ (by turning) TO A DIFFERENT GOSPEL.” Paul then explains that the “different gospel” which they were believing and obeying was not actually another gospel, but rather a PERVERTED (CHANGED) VERSION OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST. Here we see the influence of Satan in the early church. The Galatians were not rejecting God’s gospel, but rather were changing (perverting) it ever so slightly in order to make it more acceptable. By editing it the people were, as the Serpent promised Eve, making themselves gods–able to determine right and wrong. Since that time nothing has changed except the numbers of people who have bought what Satan continues to sell. He sells self-godship to God seekers. Being their own gods, they can change God’s Words to suit their own wants. For example, they can determine right and wrong, good and evil. By assuming that power for himself, religious man has “turned away from Him Who called you” to another god–man himself. Which is what Paul warned about in verse 6. Man can serve only one master; man has inserted himself into the role of master. But this is a ruse pulled off by Satan. Man believes that he is the master of his spiritual life. He is not. Churchman’s true master is Satan. Symbolically speaking, man is simply the glove; it is Satan’s hand that fills it. L.J.
