Man’s faith, regardless of type or degree, is built on a foundation. The faith of those in the Institutional Church is founded, not on the Word of God which is the only source of Biblically-commanded faith, but on the words of Satan. Using the Holy Scriptures exclusively, I have proclaimed this fact time and again on this website and my YouTube site (proveallthingsofgod). Listen to any preacher from any church and you will find that the theme of his/her message will be Satan’s Babylonian mystery religion. The single source from which the modern church draws her doctrines is identified in Revelation 17:1-5 as the Great Whore, Mystery, Babylon the great and her harlot daughters–Catholicism and the denominations of Protestantism. Only those who know, believe and obey the Biblical God are able to embrace this information. All others are lacking eyes to see and ears to hear His Truth which can be found only in His Holy Bible. We have spent much time and effort learning about God’s attitude toward the Counterfeit Church and her (read Satan’s) perverted gospel. Now let us study what the Lord tells us about His pure gospel–the Gospel of the Kingdom of God which was Christ’s ministerial theme while on earth and the theme He commands His ministers to preach in the last days of this era. Let us spiritually “listen” to His “voice” as He “speaks” to us about His Word/Truth.
John 14:23: “If you love Me, keep My Words.” John 14:15: “If you love Me, keep My Commandments.” His Words are His commandments. Here Jesus is explaining to His disciples that they, and mankind in general, will live or die eternally depending on their obedience to His Words/commandments. Note that man must PROVE his love for God in order to be saved. God accepts only one proof of man’s love for Him–obedience to His Words (from Genesis to Revelation) which are summarized in His Ten Commandments. This fact is brought out in John 14:15,23. Note that His Ten Commandment Law was written in stone by the Lord Himself. This alone tells the true God-seeker that the Law was not “nailed to cross.” Obedience to God’s Word and love for Him are synonymous and inseparable. We are commanded to prove our love for Him by obeying His Word. No amount of religiosity can substitute for keeping (guarding) His Word/Law. Keeping of (obedience to) the Law keeps sin out of our lives. This is brought out in 1 John 3:4: “To transgress the Law is sin, for sin is the transgression of the Law.” In that breaking the Law makes one evil (having sin), then obeying the Law makes on righteousness (without sin). By combining this fact with those found in John 14:15,23 Truth seekers conclude that love for God=keeping His Word. God recognizes no other proof of one’s love for Him. Refusal to obey His Word proves one’s lack of love for Him. As the following will prove, this sin is deadly.
Keeping in mind that man must prove his love for God, let us turn to John 14:23,24 where we find Jesus making a statement that should send every “sinner saved by grace” to his/her knees: “If a man loves Me he will keep my Words and (then) MY FATHER WILL LOVE HIM and (then) We will COME AND MAKE OUR ABODE WITH HIM. HE THAT LOVES ME KEEPS MY SAYINGS. The Word you hear Me speak is not Mine, but came from the Father Who sent Me.” Note three things: 1) All of Christ’s Words are Commandments that he received from His Father. 2) We prove our love for God by obeying those commandments/Words. 3) God’s love for a person depends on the person’s love for Him, which the person must prove by obeying His Word. Number three is never taught in the false church where we are told repeatedly that “God’s love is unconditional.” The passage quoted above proves this most cherished church principle to be false. Satan has used this lie to destroy the lives of billions of people. It is true that God loves the world, just as I love my neighbors, most of whom I do not know. However, we must understand that there are two levels of love. Jesus brought out this Truth in John 15:13,14 where He said to His hand-picked disciples: “Greater love has no man than this, that He lay down His life for His FRIENDS. You (disciples) are My friends IF (and only if) YOU DO WHATSOEVER I COMMAND YOU.” This is yet one more passage one will not hear in church. But we must hear it, believe it and obey it. God desires that we have “Truth in the inward parts” which must be our deepest desire (Ps. 51:6/Rom. 7:22). What is Truth? Jesus tells us in John 17:17 where He said that God’s Word is Truth. L.J.
