Throughout the world millions of people worship Jesus Christ in hundreds of different religious organizations. God tells us in His Word that there is only one true Body of Christ. Is it possible that not one of the world’s many churches, denomina- tions, faiths, etc. is the true Church of God? Is it possible to worship Christ throughout life then be rejected by Him? Is it possible to obey Him in all but one thing and be rejected by Him? Are those who claim to know Him but refuse to obey His commandments liars? Is it possible that millions of worshippers throughout history will stand before Him on Judgment Day, remind Him of all the wonderful works they had done in His name, only to be rejected by Him? Are there only a few who will qualify to be with Him for eternity? Is it possible to come under conviction of sin, repent, join the church, be baptized, continue throughout the remainder of life doing what church leaders prescribe and to have never been converted? The Biblical answer to each of these questions is “yes.” False conversion is the Satanic ruse that has caused these situations to be manifested millions of times. Revelation 12:9 tells us how he does it: DECEPTION. Satan, the master deceiver, has deceived the whole world, the church world being his coup de gras.
Multiplied millions of people claim to know Jesus Christ but reject what He said during His ministry on earth along with what He spoke to and through His prophets and apostles. These reject the very commandments He wrote in stone, obeyed as a man and ordered His followers to obey. These unwitting churchites have been deceived by false ministers who, being hostile to His Laws, twist, change and eliminate Scripture in a vain attempt to make the Bible say what they want it to say.
One such Scripture is Acts 16:31: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” Notice that 1) real faith (“believe”) must be exhibited and 2) salvation is a future (“shall be”) event.” What kind of faith was God, through Paul, talking about? We must understand that God speaks of two kinds of faith: 1) living, works-based faith that leads to life and 2) dead, workless faith that leads to death. Many in the Institutional Church reject the Book of James because it emphasizes WORKS relative to salvation. Millions in the church believe Jesus when He speaks of salvation, but refuse to believe what he commands them to do in order to be saved: “IF thou wilt enter into life, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS” (Mat. 19:17). Notice that salvation is conditional. If we are to be saved we must obey Him–obey/work the Law. When asked by a rich man which commands he should keep, the Lord began reciting the whole Law. When asked by a lawyer what he must do to be saved, Jesus answered: “What is written in the Law (the 10 commandments)?” The lawyer then quoted the first two commandments–the foundation for the other eight (Mat. 22:40). Jesus then answered him: “You have answered rightly; DO THIS (obey the 10 Commandments) AND YOU SHALL BE SAVED” (Mat. 10:25-28). Notice that believing the Law was not enough; he had to obey (work) it in order to be saved. We cannot earn salvation; it is a free gift. However, as God says repeatedly in His Word, we must qualify for it by meeting His condition–we must obey the Law, including commandment #4 which the Counterfeit Church refuses to do, thereby breaking the Law. Jesus’ response to these Christ worshippers: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he who DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER IN HEAVEN. Many will say to Me on that (judgment) day, ‘Lord, Lord,’ have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name and done many wonderful works in Your name?’ and then I will declare unto them, “I NEVER KNEW YOU; DEPART FROM ME YE WHO WORK INIQUITY (LAWLESSNESS)” (Mat. 7:21-23). We must remember that to break even one of the commandments is to break all 10 (Jam. 2:10-12), making one a worker of iniquity whom Jesus will reject.
Many who claim to know Jesus proclaim that the Law was nailed to the cross. Yet God said through John that the only people who truly know His Son are those who keep (obey/work) His commandments (1 Jn. 2:3-5). He then labeled as LIARS those who claim to know Jesus but refuse to keep His Law.
Jesus said in Mark 7:7-9 that many WORSHIP HIM, but by refusing to obey His Law, WORSHIP HIM IN VAIN (uselessly). How do we know if we are worshipping Him in vain? To approach Him in righteousness we must first be converted. We are told in Acts 2:37,38 that the first step to being converted is to repent of our sins. This is followed by baptism and the receiving of the Holy Spirit. Paul stated that a true Christian is one in whom the Holy Spirit dwells (Rom. 8:9). The Holy Spirit dwelling is us is manifested as Jesus dwelling in us (Rom. 8:10). Christ lives and is manifested in the flesh by and through those who obey Him (1 Jn. 4:2) by walking (living) “… even as He walked” (1 Jn. 2:6). In this way the saint puts forth His “light.” Like the five wise virgins, those having a heart toward Him will come to that light, embrace it and walk (work) it throughout the remainder of life. Others, like the five foolish virgins, come to the light, embrace it, then allow the light to go out.
What are the sins of which we are commanded to repent? To answer the question we must determine what is sin. God defines sin in 1 Jn. 3:34: “To transgress the Law is sin; for sin is the transgression of the Law.” This is the same Law the church claims the Lord nailed to the cross; the same Law He wrote with His own finger; the same Law He calls “… holy, just and good” (Rom. 7:12). This Law, which covers every sin possible, must be obeyed in order to qualify for eternal life.
Peter laments the future of those in the church who refuse to obey God’s Law (continue to sin), stating that judgment was on-going in the true church, and that only those therein who were righteous (cleansed of sin) could be saved (1 Pet. 4:17-19). Sin being the breaking of the Law, only those who obey it can be saved. True conversion entails obedience to the Law. All who claim that God nailed that Law to the cross have been deceived into accepting a false conversion based on dead faith (Jam. 10-26). And in that the justified live by faith, those with dead faith are themselves equally dead.
