In Biblical times they were called “devils.” Today they are called “demons.” Demons are not only real, they affect the lives of the world’s unsuspecting masses. The fact that most people do not believe in the existence of devils/demons makes them extremely effective in the life of the average person. I have dealt with Satan’s spiritual ministers on many occasions. I have had them argue with me and defy my commands. But in the end they have to obey me because I operate in the power of God’s Holy Spirit. In spite of the fact that the Bible speaks about them from genesis to Revelation, most church people believe that, if they ever existed, they are no longer a factor in the life of “the church.” Like the Law, they are no longer around. Some church people know that demons do in fact exist but do not believe that they are affected them because they are “saved” and immune from their (demons’) power.
In the 1970’s during what was called the “Charismatic Movement” the truth about demons and their work in the lives of human beings became well-known within the Pentecostal Church system. However, the consensus was (and still is) that a “Christian” could not be affected by (have) a demon, meaning that demons could not inhabit a member of the church because of the presence of the Holy Spirit. Others, such as myself, had received revelation from the Lord about the situation and were not affected by the false beliefs of the majority. As a result there was a great deal of discussion about the subject, some of which became highly contentious. The fact of the matter is that, without exception, every person out of whom I cast a demon (or demons) were professing Christians. This fact has created both confusion and contention within the Pentecostal Church system. As I came to know through revelation from the Lord, the problem was much deeper than anyone realized. The problem, which arose within the church shortly after her founding in 31 A.D, not only persists to this day, it permeates and dominates the entirety of professing Christendom. THE PROBLEM is that 99.99% of those who claim to be Christians ARE NOT BIBLICLY-DEFINED CHRISTIANS. They are church-defined Christians. They are counterfeits–Christians in name only. How can this be? God explains in Revelation 12:9: “SATAN HAS DECEIVED THE WHOLE WORLD.” This includes the church world–his most prized possession.
The problem with the belief that a Christian can’t be affected by a demon evolved out of the fact that those who claim to be God’s people are not His people. The Lord involved me in this “what-can’t-be-true-is-in-fact-true” situation early on in my ministry. My ministerial commission from God is to tell church people the Truth–THAT THEY ARE NOT SAVED, NOT BORN AGAIN, NOT GOD’S PEOPLE, AND THAT THEIR CHURCH IS NOT THE BODY OF CHRIST. Needless to say, I am not popular. My audience is much larger than the combined audience of all the preachers who know me or know about me, yet I am never asked to speak at their churches. Their parishioners avoid me and reject my theology outright. Even my own family rejects my beliefs. The question is, “Why?” In every case the answer is the same–“DEMONS” who operate under the direction of their master–SATAN–who controls the churches which my detractors “belong to.” Therein lies the foundational problem–THE CHURCH,” NOT THE LORD, DETERMINES WHAT CHURCH PEOPLE BELIEVE. SATAN’S CHURCH HAS REPLACED GOD IN DETERMINING GOOD AND EVIL. It is through the Institutional Church that Satan maintains total control over professing Christendom.
In the Apostle Paul’s second letter to the people in the church in Ephesus he told them that before their conversion they had been “dead in trespasses and sins,” that they had “walked in the ways of the world” because they were under the control of “prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in sinners.” The “prince” Paul was referring to was then, and still is today, Satan. He is the “god of this world” (2 Cor. 4:4), the prince who rules over the world’s masses through millions, possibly billions of demons whose job is to tempt unsuspecting people to sin against God. These fallen angels are extremely powerful in the spiritual realm. Though neither Satan nor his angels can force man to do anything, they make sin SEEM like the right thing to do. God addresses this Truth in Proverbs 14:12 where He warns us that: “There is a way that SEEMS RIGHT to a man, but that way leads to destruction.” Demons convince people that Satan’s way is the right way. For this reason the masses flock through his wide (come as you are–a sinner) gate and walk his broad (stay as you are–a sinner) path to death (Mat. 7:13,14). Satan and his demons control those inside Catholicism/Protestantism by convincing them that they can sin and, because of Christ’s sacrifice, inherit eternal life. Obviously, such “sinners saved by grace” are low hanging fruit for the master manipulators. They are good at what they do because they have a good teacher. He is the “Serpent” of Eden who convinced Adam and Eve that they could sin against God and live forever in paradise. Sound familiar? If not, turn on any religious t.v. or radio broadcast, read any religious book, watch any religious movie and you will NEVER be told to stop sinning.
God’s Word is composed of 99% “fine print” and 1% “headlines.” What one hears from the pulpit and reads in books and magazines are “headlines.” Many people quote “headlines.” However, NO ONE QUOTES “FINE PRINT.” This website presents mostly fine print. As I have stated before, the “headlines” tell us what God promises; the “fine print” tells us how to appropriate those promises. Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 provide both in exquisite detail.
Either directly or indirectly, Satan and his demons are the power behind all sin, which produces all of the misery, sickness, “natural disasters,” wars, pandemics, etc. that wreaks havoc in the lives of the world’s people, including church people who suffer exactly as do those outside the church. The problem began in the Garden of Eden. If left alone, Adam and Eve would probably not have defied God. But they had been given the power of choice. God is no respecter of persons. Therefore, we are all given that same power. As history has shown, Adam and Eve, along with their descendants, have CHOSEN to bow to the temptations presented by the prince of the power of the air and his angels. These fallen entities have power over man ONLY if man gives them that power. Man always has the final say relative to temptation. However, without the power of the Holy Spirit working from within him, man will fail always bow to temptation. Even having the Spirit, some men still fail during the faith-growth period of their Christian walk. Jesus tells us that only a few resist Satan’s power of persuasion. This requires much faith and works of faith. In order to qualify for eternal life, we must grow in faith and obedience (works) until the powers of the air no longer affect us. As Jesus said in Revelation 3:21, in order to be with Him in the Kingdom of God we must “overcome (temptation) even as I overcame.” THE MAN JESUS HAD TO OVERCOME THE FORCES OF EVIL EXACTLY AS WE DO. To do this we must have the same Holy Spirit living in and working through us as did He. God promises this power to those who want it more than anything else in this life.
In Ephesians 6:10-17 Paul identifies those whom we fight and how to win the inevitable battles (temptations) we know are coming: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (the Holy Spirit). Put on the whole armor of God so that you can stand against (overcome) the wiles (temptations) of the devil.” The continuous war Christ repeatedly warns us about cannot be won by our own power. Not even He could defeat Satan by His own power. He said: “I can do nothing by My own power” (Jn. 5:30). Spiritual power comes through prayer. God empowers us to overcome temptation. He will not allow us to be tempted beyond our power to overcome. In the case of the false Christian, the battle is lost before it begins. The true believer (convert) has the power to resist. Whether or not he does is his decision. Recall that before his fall, Judas had the same power as did the other disciples. He chose to answer Satan’s call. They chose to overcome his call. If a Spirit-filled believer succumbs to temptation, the power (Holy Spirit) leaves him. As the Lord said through the Prophet Isaiah, sin separates us from Him (59:2). Sin causes Him to remove His Spirit from the sinner. Without the power of the Holy Spirit we are no match for the prince of the power of the air and his minions. The Spirit is given when one is truly converted. Church people are not truly converted, having only experienced “John’s baptism” and not Christian baptism. It is at the time of true conversion and true Christian baptism that the Holy Spirit comes to reside within the believer. Read John’s Baptism. Key word–John’s. The difference between John’s baptism for the removal of sin and church baptism following true conversion is the difference between life and death, light and darkness. The false Christian world walks in darkness, as the Holy Scriptures declare.
The above explains why church people sin and brag about it. All is well in that, due to Adam’s sin transferal miracle, sin is a natural part of their lives. Sinning is therefore doing what come naturally. But isn’t the wage of sin death? Not for those who are “saved.” The sin problem was solved by Jesus when, through His death, He provided a license to sin for all who believe in Him and take Him as their Savior. All the “saved, born again and sanctified” need to do is repent after each of their inevitable sins. Repentance frees them to sin again, and again, and again. They simply need to maintain the church-prescribed sin-repent cycle until death, at which time Jesus will give them one final cleansing before they arrive at the pearly gates where St. Peter awaits with the keys to their heavenly mansions. It is easy to see why billions of salvation seekers have embraced this theology, not one word of which is true IF, that is, we can take God at His Word. Therein lies the root of the problem. Church people do not believe God. L.J.
