Faith Versus Works Or Faith With Works: God’s Response

In the first chapter of Paul’s epistle to the church located in Rome, the apostle makes a statement that destroys the two-headed, multi-bodied “church” that has spread Satan’s perverted gospel (faith)throughout the world. In verses 5 through 12 he refers twice to “the” faith that “the” called of God would obey. Never does he or the other apostles deviate from the singular “faith that was once delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3) by Jesus of Nazareth. In verse 6 Paul refers to those who have “the” faith as “the” called. In the next verse he notes that God calls His faithful obedient children “saints.” Note in verse 7 the influence of the Catholic translators employed by King James relative to the saints. One will notice the words “to be” (saints) which are italicized, meaning that they were not in the original manuscript. The catholics believe that they, not God, decide who is a saint. When the Holy Spirit-directed Scriptures did not line up with Catholic teaching, translators became interpreters. An even more glaring example of their treachery is found in 1 John 5:7,8. Here, in an attempt to legitimize Satan’s trinity doctrine, added an entire sentence to the Holy script. Note in the margin of your Bible that the words from “in heaven” (vs 7) through “in earth” (vs 8) were added and must be omitted. Only a few of the more modern versions include those words which distort the passage, making it appear that the Holy Spirit is a God in the same mold as God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. See The Trinity for a thorough study of this “truth” by which Satan has deceived the whole world (Rev. 12:9).

In Romans 1:5,6 Paul destroys the multi-church theology. Each church refers to itself as “the” faith while God says that there is only one true faith–His Word. Ironically, denominations are based on each group’s rejection of certain doctrines found in that Word. If all agreed on “the” Word there would be no Mystery, Babylonish whore (Catholicism) and her harlot daughters (Protestant denominations). The early church had no such distinctions, as the apostles repeatedly point out. Paul notes this in verse 12 where he refers to the church’s “MUTUAL FAITH.” As he points out in Romans 1:5-7, in His GRACE God has CALLED His SAINTS to OBEDIENCE TO THE FAITH everywhere on earth for His NAME’S SAKE so that they can receive His and His Son’s GRACE AND PEACE.

In Romans 1:8 Paul notes that the church at Rome was well known throughout the world for their obedience to God’s Word by which they express their faith. That faith equals obedience to God’s Word is brought out by the Apostle James in chapter 2 of his epistle. In verses 14-26 we find God, speaking through him, telling true saints that one cannot be saved by faith alone; it must be accompanied by works (14,24)). In verses 17,20,26 He warns that faith, no matter how strong, without works of faith–obedience to His Word–is dead. This means that one who has great faith but who does not do works of faith is dead because we “live by (our) faith (Heb. 10:38),” which means living by “… every Word that comes from the mouth of God” (Mat. 4:4). In that “faith comes by hearing the Word of God” (Rom. 10:17) it becomes clear that in order to enter into paradise and sit on Christ’s throne with Him ruling both the earth and the universe, we must know, believe and obey (work) His Father’s Word from cover to cover. James goes on to say in 2:18 that we prove our faith by our works (of obedience to God’s Word). He then chides those in the church who believe that faith alone is enough to affect salvation, telling them Satan’s demons believe the Word–and TREMBLE because they know what that Word says about their fate. The faith only people were lower than demons in the eyes of God. In verses 21-25 James speaks of the faith of Abraham and Rahab who put feet on their faith and did WORKS. We must remember that if Rahab had been caught hiding the Israelites she would have been killed. She hid them believing their words of assurance that she and her family would be kept safe. Abraham was so sure that God would raise up a great nation through the son he was about to sacrifice that he told the men with him to wait a distance from the place where he would sacrifice Isaac, assuring them that “WE” (himself and Isaac) would return (Gen. 22:5). THAT IS WORKING FAITH AT ITS FINEST. Be it known throughout the world that one must have Abraham’s level of faith/works if one is to spend eternity with him in the Kingdom of God. L.J.
