According to those in the spiritual know, April 21 was “The most holy day on the Christian calendar.” Question: When did cursing the Biblical God became a church activity? Answer: It didn’t. Observing the heathen Easter is simply professing Christendom revealing her monumental ignorance of and faith in God’s Word. I have a full teaching on this subject that will come out this week on YouTube which can be viewed at proveallthingsofgod. Due to the extent of that teaching, I will present this condensed version in one posting.
In Ezekiel 22:26 God commands that His people not mix the holy with the profane (cursed), for in so doing the profaner curses Him. On April 21 several billion self-professed Christians joyfully cursed Jesus Christ while believing that they were honoring Him while paying homage to the “Queen of heaven”–the church’s goddess of fertility whose English name is EASTER.
In Jeremiah 10:2 God forbids His people to learn the ways of the heathen, for they are an abomination to Him. Among heathen societies, Easter, who was known by such names as Ishtar (Babylonians), Ashtoreth (Palestinians), Astarte (Phonecians), Cybele (Romans), Diana (Ephesians), Athena (Greeks) and Isis (Egyptians). These people were honoring their respective sex goddesses hundreds of years before the birth of Jesus. The holiday, complete with eggs, chickens, rabbits and sunrise services has not lost its appeal over the centuries.
In 1 Corinthians 5:7,8; 11:24-25; 16:8/ Acts 20:6,16; 27:9 we are told that the New Testament Church kept the Passover–a memorial to Christ’s DEATH–along with Pentecost and the Day of Atonement. Nowhere are we told that she observed Easter–His resurrection–or Christmas–His birth. The church continued to commemorate His death for 294 years following her founding in 31 A.D. At the Counsel of Nicea in 325 A.D., the Catholic Church instituted a law which forbad the celebration of the Biblical Passover within the Roman Empire. From that time forward the church would pay homage to her “queen”–Easter, and would do so on Sunday. Through some religious hocus pocus she managed to tie Christ’s resurrection to the festivities. Only a few–God’s remnant–refused to bow to church dictates. As a result, many were martyred.
The supreme irony found in this scenario revolves around three life-changing events that unite God and man: Christ’s birth, death and resurrection. God commands that Christians commemorate only one of these events–Christ’s death (Passover). The church rejects Passover and instead celebrates His birth and resurrection. When Jesus told the disciples, then and now: “Do this in remembrance (as a memorial) of Me,” He was referring to the bread, which represented his broken body, and the wine, which represented His shed blood. The Counterfeit Church, however, ties the memorial to a pagan, multi-breasted sex goddess who supposedly experienced a miraculous conception and gave birth to a sun god–Tammuz–who is honored at sunrise services throughout the world. In royal fashion for the world to see, she openly mixes the holy with the profane. In so doing she curses the very Savior she claims to believe and obey. We need not guess concerning the wrath the Father is building up toward those who curse the very One He sent to save them. The Word “death” sums it up perfectly. L.J.
