We must not ignore the significance of “crossing over” and “passing through” in order to become a “Hebrew” (spiritual Israelite). See White Fields. These three terms refer to the total removal of past sins. When Abram crossed the Euphrates River he accomplished the same symbolic sin removal as would his descendants–the children of Israel–when they crossed the Red Sea generations later. In 1 Corinthians 10:1,2 the Apostle Paul, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, referred to their passing through the Red Sea as their “baptism.” Note that he told the Corinthian church that upon leaving Egypt–which is symbolic of sin–“all of our (Israelite) fathers passed through the (Red) Sea and were all (symbolically) baptized unto (by) Moses in the cloud (that followed them–Jesus Christ-1 Cor.10:4) and in the sea.” In 10:4 Christ is called “the Rock Which followed them” on their journey through the desert. Spiritually, “crossing over” and “passing through” a body of water symbolizes being cleansed of sin WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT ONE WILL NOT RETURN TO THE OTHER SIDE WHERE SIN, DARKNESS AND DEATH AWAIT. God compares one who continues to sin after crossing over/passing through to a sow that, having been cleansed, returns to her mire, and to a dog that, having expelled spoiled food, returns to its vomit. In church circles, when one fails to obey denominational doctrine one is accused of “backsliding.” However, it is impossible for those within Institutional Christianity to backslide from God in that they have never been with Him. Therefore they have no position in God from which to slide. Catholicism and Protestantism are counterfeits of Biblical Christianity. Only God’s true church can backslide.
First John 3:4 tells us that the sin found on the other side of the baptismal waters is disobedience of God’s Law. Note that 1 John is in the New Testament. Crossing over and passing through those cleansing waters renders the God seeker free of all past sins accrued by disobeying God’s Word, specifically the Ten Commandments. Jesus tells us in Scripture that one must obey the Law in order to acquire eternal life. See God’s Royal Law. Satan has convinced billions of people that, upon completing the prescribed ritual, being baptized and joining “the church” they have in fact crossed over and passed through the cleansing waters and need only stay the church-prescribed course in order to assure their place in heaven. This lie is exposed in the postings titled Bait and Switch, Life After Death and The Mark of the Beast.
Unfortunately, those who take the bait and make the switch will suffer the same fate as did the Israelites who preceded them. Death, destruction and enslavement will soon come upon all so-called “Christian people” and “Christian nations.” Only those who have remained true to God’s Word will survive the Great Tribulation into which, first Satan then God will cast them. In Matthew 7:13,14 we are told that only a “few” will “find” and “strive” to enter the strait gate and walk the narrow way leading to eternal life. The vast majority, He tells us, will enter the wide “come as you are, stay as you are” gate of Institutional Christendom and walk her broad “if God’s name is on it it’s good” path that leads to destruction.
If you have not crossed over/passed through the spiritual waters that separate Satan’s world of sin from God’s world of righteousness, please do so. Being Catholic or Protestant is not the unforgiveable sin. If you have come out of those citadels of Satan and are overcoming Satan’s temptations to sin, please continue. Jesus tells us in Revelation 3:21 that only those who do so will be with Him in the Kingdom of God. L.J.
