Over two billion souls are living in a state of delusion. Because they have completed the prescribed rituals, felt the prescribed feelings and done the prescribed works (Bible study, witnessing, tithing, praying, etc.), Satan has convinced them that they are “saved” and “born again.” If God is to be believed, they are neither. They have merely come to recognize Father and Son and their need for both. Having done the above, they believe that the fix is in and that they are in need of nothing. What they need in order to begin the walk toward salvation and rebirth is CONVERSION. They have approached the two gates and two paths and have, through Biblical ignorance, unwittingly been led through the wide gate and along the broad path of Counterfeit Christianity (Mat. 7:13,14). In summary, having been convinced that they have arrived at the finish line and have received salvation, church people unwittingly suffer from FALSE CONVERSION. Conversion is the first step along the narrow path that, if diligently followed, leads to eternal life to be awarded at the return of Jesus Christ. See Hope and Salvation. Let us examine the church-embraced, soul-destroying phenomenon known as false conversion.
In John 9:41 we find Jesus telling the religious leaders of that day (Pharisees): “For judgment I am come into this world, (so) that they which see (have God’s Truth but reject it) might not see (be blinded) ….” The Pharisees asked Him if they were blind. To which Jesus replied, “… because you say ‘We see’ (know the Truth), therefore your sin remains” (because they rejected it). Like their Pharisaical brethren, church people have God’s Truth but refuse to believe and obey it. Therefore, not having recognized their sins and repented of them, they retain (treasure) them–accumulate them until judgment (Rom. 2:1-5). We are all subject to this error and must diligently and repeatedly search our hearts (minds) to rid ourselves of any and every sin. This is a major priority in the life of anyone seeking salvation.
The Pharisees believed that they had been “converted,” but had not. The were walking the same wide path taken by their religious ancestors. The Institutional Church does the same–blindly walking the path taken by their religious ancestors (Catholicism/Protestantism). I know because I walked that same path for many years and, like my fellow travelers, I “knew” beyond a doubt that I was on the “right” path. But I praise God that from the beginning He repeatedly told me the Truth–His “voice” never left me in spite of my rejection of it. I regret that it took me so long to embrace Him. Those who truly hunger and thirst for His Truth will hear His voice. Some truly seek Him and hear His voice. But due to pride (refusal to admit error) and fear (of churchites), they refuse to obey it. The religious masses have no taste for God’s Truth because they “know” that they have everything they need to get to heaven–their only goal. A thorough study of Revelation 3:14-17 will reveal exactly where the church masses stand in the eyes of God. They, as did their ancient counterparts, suffer from a curable case of FALSE CONVERSION, their spiritual infirmity having been given them by the leader of the Counterfeit Church.
False conversion, which leads to false salvation, false faith, a false god, a false messiah and a false church, is exemplified by failure. We will now examine some of the failures that characterize false conversion. First Peter 1:22–failure to purify the soul (physical body). First John 1:22–failure to purify the heart (mind) and keep it pure as did Jesus. Romans 6:13-19–failure to yield to God and reject Satan. Acts 10:35–failure to fear God and do (works of) righteousness. First Peter 3:11–failure to eschew (hate, reject, avoid) evil. Matthew 5:6–failure to hunger and thirst for righteousness. Second Corinthians 6:17–failure to come out of the Counterfeit Church and remain separate from her. Second Timothy 3:12–failure to be righteous (peculiar) and suffer persecution by the church for being so. To be continued. L.J.
