The majority of Americans, most of whom profess to be Christians, are openly against sanctuary churches. People who have crosses around their necks, fish symbols on their cars and Bibles on their shelves point their fingers at those who shield social criminals from prosecution by hiding them from those who are charged with enforcing the nation’s laws. The statements coming from these concerned religious citizens make for good sound bytes and attention-grabbing headlines.
However, their protestations are rife with hypocrisy in that those who speak out against sanctuary churches that hide criminals from the authorities and from having to obey the law are themselves guilty of hiding spiritual criminals from God and making them immune to His Law. Those who speak the loudest against spiritual criminality include the speakers themselves who, if asked about God’s eternal Law claim that it was nailed to the cross. Their rationale being that because Jesus did away with the Law, there is no need to obey what no longer exists. In 1 John 3:4 God says that breaking His Ten Commandment Law is sin. Therefore, by doing away with Law, specifically the 4th commandment, the church has done away with sin. In this way the church provides a religious sanctuary–a place where spiritual criminals can be protected from God and His Law. Those who reject God and His Law are bent on rebellion and self-determination, Adam and Eve being their examples.
God has provided many choice Words for those who rebel against Him. Ironically, churchites refuse to believe those Words coming from the very Bible they claim to be God’s Word. In Luke 10:16 the Lord explains that those who rebel against His Word despise both Himself and His Father. But the church pays no attention to the Words of Jesus Christ because church doctrine has made the Bible null and void. Their false prophets have convinced them that they can do as they please and get away with it because they are “saved.” The irony in this bit of liberal theology is that these supposedly “saved” people were saved by the very One they reject. And how do they know they are saved? Because the One they reject said so. And where did He say so? IN THE BIBLE THEY ALSO REJECT.
In this way the Counterfeit Church, which her parishioners have turned into a God-free zone, has, for almost 2000 years, been the example that sanctuary cities and states have recently begun to mirror. CATHOLIC AND PROTESTANT CHURCHES ARE SANCTUARIES FOR OVER TWO BILLION SPIRITUAL CRIMINALS TODAY. These people believe themselves to be protected from God and His Law. Though social criminals often get away with their crimes, spiritual criminals will not. John 12:48 declares that they will all be judged by the Words of the God they profess to believe but refuse to obey. L.J.
