In the previous posting I brought out the Biblical fact that God used the weekly 7th day Sabbath to prove (test) Israel to see if they loved and feared Him enough to obey His Law (Exo. 16:4,5) By choosing the Sabbath Law to determine who would make the spiritual cut, the Lord looked back to the time of the creation of the universe as recorded in the Book of Genesis. Of all things He did and said during creation week, He has chosen to use His Sabbath Law to determine who is for Him and who is against Him. The Lord would later write this Law, along with 9 other, equally important, equally permanent Laws to serve as His rules for living that, if obeyed, would enable men to live eternally with Him. As He would later tell a rich man and a lawyer, obedience to those 10 commandments continues to be the only way into His eternal kingdom (Mat. 19:17-21/Lk. 10:25-28). The question is: Why did He choose the 4th commandment to determine man’s eternal future?
Even the least mature, least spiritual parishioner within professing Christendom knows that he/she must love God and his/her fellow man, must not worship other gods, must not take God’s name in vain, must honor one’s father and mother, must not murder, must not commit adultery, must not steal, must not bear false witness and must not covet the possessions of another. Even the unchurched recognize the wisdom of obeying these commandments, though most do not. However, there is one commandment that, in the eyes of man, is not equal to the other 9–the Sabbath commandment (#4). Both churched and unchurched “know” that #4 is totally insignificant and plays no part in the salvation process. They “know” that the Lord has given them the authority to declare it null and void and to choose a Sabbath more to their liking. Some have chosen Friday (Muslims). Others have chosen Sunday (Christianity). Still others have chosen to obey God’s command to honor Him on the day (Saturday) He set aside for that purpose. Let it be known that in Biblical times days and months were not identified by name, but rather by number. God’s eternal, written-in-stone weekly Sabbath is the 7th day.
The Lord, Who knows all things, knew that Satan would use the Sabbath commandment to entice men away from their Creator. Satan, who knows the Bible and believes it, knows what the Lord said through the Apostle James–that to break ONE of the commandments is to break ALL 10 (Jam. 2:10). By breaking one commandment one makes oneself a worker of iniquity (Lawlessness), whom Jesus swore to reject at His coming (Mat. 7:23). Indeed, Satan has deceived the whole world (Rev. 12:9) and the church world revels in his deceptions.
In order to show Satan’s power over and complete control of professing Christendom, I want to state some easily proven facts. Religious man will attest to the fact that all of the creations brought into being during creation week are still with us and functioning (man, animals, heavenly bodies, vegetation, etc.)–EXCEPT THE 7TH DAY SABBATH. Religious man will also agree that the Ten Commandments are still good rules to live by–EXCEPT THE 7TH DAY SABBATH. God’s saints note that Catholics and Protestants will go to any extreme, believe any version of His Sabbath commandment EXCEPT HIS 7TH DAY SABBATH. And not only is God’s commanded Sabbath observance wrong–IT IS SINFUL TO OBSERVE IT. The church’s mantra is: “ANY WORD BUT GOD’S WORD; ANY TRUTH BUT GOD’S TRUTH.” Anyone who doubts Satan’s absolute control over the Institutional Church simply refuses to face reality.
I have written much more about God’s commanded 7th day Sabbath than I will write about any other of the church’s numerous false “truths” because her sabbath “truth” is the sin billions of people have committed and continue to commit to their peril. For those who claim that ignorance excuses this paramount sin, recall that the Lord said in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Note that those who call themselves by His name are being DESTROYED because they refuse to believe what is readily available in His Holy Bible. This ignorance is self-inflicted. God declares that such ignorance is no excuse for rejecting His Word, and thereby rejecting Himself and His Son (Lk. 10:16). L.J.
