It is 8:30 central standard time on December 24, 2017. I am sitting in front of my computer monitor with a heavy heart. What I have seen and heard people do and say this day has reminded me of the spiritual condition of the world. I silently cringe when I witness the Satan-inspired spectacle that is “Christmas night.” It is the night the Counterfeit Church sets aside to honor her god–Satan.
I remember well the days of my ignorance when I, as do billions of self-proclaimed Christians today, sang carols, exchanged gifts and assured myself that I was one with the Biblical God. There were miles of smiles flashed during the days leading up the apex of church life. Pageants were performed, nativity scenes were erected and crosses were adorned with lights or other types of decorations as we prepared for the most holy of nights.
But then came revelation from on high as the Lord, through His Holy Spirit, revealed to me in His Word the Truth concerning His hatred toward what the world embraces. Over the years as I have watched that world in general and my beloved country in particular rush toward oblivion and judgment I think about the heathen practices and beliefs that started them on the path toward spiritual and physical destruction and has kept them on that path for some 1700 years.
I will leave you with two passages of Scripture that speak to the observance of the heathen holiday called Christmas. In Jeremiah 10:1-5 God said audibly: “Do not learn the ways of the heathen …. for their customs are vain, for they cut a tree out of the forest … with an ax. They adorn it with silver and gold and fasten it with nails and hammers so that it cannot move ….” Note that the erection of a Christmas tree and decorating it is an act of the HEATHEN whom God’s people are not to emulate. The idea that the custom is okay with God if it is observed for the “right reason” is addressed in 1 Timothy 5:22 where God tells us to abstain from ALL APPEARANCE OF EVIL. Learning and following the “WAYS OF THE HEATHEN” is evil both in appearance and reality. As the Lord said, observing their customs, even in His name, is not only evil, but is done in vain. L.J.
