Christmas: The Darkness has arrived

I arose from bed having prepared a posting for this morning dealing with a specific subject. However, the Lord is leading me in another direction. I feel troubled in my spirit–the Lord is angry with those who profess Him globally and often as led by their ministers, only to rise this morning to worship at the feet of Satan. But this attitude is not new. Anciently, Aaron led the people of Israel to do the same thing (Exo. 32:1-6). Let us set the scene.

God’s man Moses has been gone for quite some time, prompting the people to doubt that he would return. Needing something visual and physical upon which to base their fading faith, they order his weak-willed brother to provide such an entity. Wanting to please the masses, Aaron asks of them their jewelry from which he fashions a golden calf upon which the people can base their faith. Having formed the statue, he then builds an alter before it and declares that the next day Israel would, while bowing before the CALF, hold a feast “… TO THE LORD.” Let us relate this sorry episode in Israel’s history to the equally-sorry episode that is the ongoing life of the Counterfeit Church in these last days.

As Moses had been called to the top of Mt. Sinai by the Lord, Jesus has been called to His side at this time. With the man through whom God displayed His power (Holy Spirit) gone, the only thing Israel had to depend on was God’s Word (Exo. 19,20). With Jesus gone and lacking in God’s spiritual power, the church has only His Word to sustain her. Needing something visual on which to anchor their faith, Israel demanded such a physical entity to lead them back to Egypt (enable them to sin and get away with it)–something they could see and feel. Aaron placated them by creating a golden calf for them to look at and believe in that would substitute for Moses who spoke God’s Words. His Son and His Word having been rejected by the church, she demanded that her leaders create religious organizations, customs, pomp and ceremony to substitute for the Godhead and Their Word. For Israel, God’s Word (Exo. 19,20) no longer sufficed; she needed something that appealed to the senses. Her modern counterpart has also rejected God’s Word and needs something sensual upon which to base her faith. Israel had her GOLDEN CALF; the church has her ORGANIZATIONS–her version of the golden calf. As Israel bowed before and worshiped the calf, the church bows before and worships her respective organizations. As Israel later demanded a king to replace God’s man Samuel who spoke His Word, the church demanded organizations to replace God’s Son Jesus Who also spoke His Words. Each got what they wanted; each died spiritually.

Nothing better exhibits the church’s obsession with physical objects upon which to base her faith, love and adoration than Christmas–the ultimate example of Satan worship. This morning children and their executioners will arise to open presents that Tammuz has left lying beneath a decorated tree. This in spite of God’s command to “Learn not the ways of the heathen … for the customs of the people (Gentiles-heathen) are futile, for one cuts a tree out of the forest … they decorate it with silver and gold; they fasten it with nails and hammers so that it will not fall” (Jer. 10:2-4). What God condemns, churchman exalts. Man’s explanation for knowingly defying God is that he knows best; he has his reasons and God has no choice but to accept them. When confronted with God’s Word condemning such service to Satan (Christmas, Easter, etc.), the typical reply is,  “But that’s not why I do it.” It matters not to God why one rejects Him, only that he does so. “Why” is irrelevant to the Lord. Churchman says not so, that “why” is the determining factor when classifying an act as either good or evil. Adam and Eve set the standard for this religious reasoning. Why did they sin? Because they wanted the power to determine right and wrong. The church is comprised of millions of Adams and Eves. But unlike their ancestors, she does not know that she has defied her Maker. Adam and Eve were not surprised when God expelled them from the Garden of Eden. Unlike them, the church will be totally shocked when she is expelled from the presence of Jesus Christ on Judgment Day. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’ shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in haven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name and done many wonderful works in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I NEVER KNEW YOU; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE INIQUITY (LAWLESSNESS).'” Why am I saddened this day? Because many, while standing around a Christmas tree, will be in the valley of decision and not know it. Having been blinded by Satan, they, like the Laodiceans (Rev. 3:14-17) of old, will continue happily through life not realizing what the future holds for them if they do not come out of Satan’s religious holding company (Catholicism/Protestantism) and have nothing to do with it. Only then will God be their God and they will be His children (2 Cor. 6:17).
