The term “gas light” comes from the world of entertainment.  However, what entertainers do in the physical realm is often aa reflection of what has been taking place in the spiritual realm for some time.  As I have pointed out on several occasions, as goes the church, so goes the society.  What becomes an established and acceptable mode of behavior and thought among religious people is eventually reflected by the world outside of religion.  Gaslighting is a perfect example of that phenomenon.

In a 1938 stage play titled Gas Light a man attempts to convince his wife, their family and friends that she is insane.  He does this by manipulating certain elements of their environment, then insists that she is mistaken when she notices the changes.  He claims that she losing her mind and experiencing delusions when she remembers the way things were originally.  For example, over time the man gradually dims the gas lights in their home while pretending that no change is taking place in the lighting.  When she mentions the problem, he tells her that she is wrong, that she is losing her mind.  In this way he causes her to doubt her perceptions and to accept his version of reality.  Over time she comes to believe that he was right and that she should go along with him.

The Institutional Church (the “wife”) is the product of Satan’s (her “husband”) program of spiritual gaslighting that has been in effect for hundreds of years.  While the true Christian’s reality is what God has written in His Holy Bible, the deceived Christian’s reality is Satan’s version of God’s Word proclaimed by their church.  By keeping them ignorant of the Bible through his false prophets, parishioners never hear God’s Truth.  Just as the husband in the stage play told his wife that what she was actually seeing was a delusion and that what she was perceiving was reality, Satan has convinced the church that what God has written in His Word is a delusion, and that what she is experiencing–sickness, war, financial problems, “natural disasters,” etc.–is natural.  Satan’s false prophets have convinced the church that God is not involved in such things, that He simply allows nature to take her course.

As I watch the frenzied goings-on relative to COVID-19, and knowing what religious leaders are telling their parishioners about the pandemic, I have to force anger out of my mind.  Satan has convinced church parishioners that God’s promise of good health is a mental delusion He has put forth to gain followers.  Satan has them believing that they are not to blame for what happens in their lives, that the repeated problems they experience are not caused by their sins, rather they are “just the way it is.”  Meanwhile God is shouting out from His Holy Bible that their misery is 100% their fault (Deut. 28/Lev. 26), that sickness is a curse that He has placed on them due to their sins (Jn. 5:14), that there is no curse without a cause (Prov. 26:2/ Jn. 5:14/ Mat. 9:1-7), and that their continued sins cause the curses that continually plague them.  The Institutional Church is being gaslighted by the master gaslighter through the ministry of his false prophets and their spiritual helpers–Satan’s fallen angels Biblically known as devils (Mat. 4:24/1 Tim. 4:1) and commonly known as demons.  I have dealt with Satan’s human prophets as well as his demonic spirits.  They are dedicated to fulfilling his agenda and are very good at what they do.  The primary difference between the two is that his prophets, due to ignorance, do not know what they are doing while the demons, who know and believe the Bible, know exactly what they are doing.  The fact that church members outnumber God’s saints millions to one highlights their success.  God’s people are not surprised because He warned us in Matthew 7:13,14; 20:16 and 24:4,5 that this would be the case within the religious community.

That man’s quality of life is under his (man’s) control, that God’s “cause and effect” Law is in effect, that whatsoever one sows one reaps is proclaimed in the Holy Scriptures time and again.  The ultimate source of such Truth is found in the 26th chapter of Leviticus and the 28th chapter of Deuteronomy.  Those two chapters repeatedly highlight the fact that man decides whether he will be blessed or cursed by God.  In those chapters and throughout the Scriptures the Lord states the conditions for receiving either blessing and cursing from Him.  Man then decides which to choose.

In His Law God tells man that it is His will to bless him, that if he will obey His (God’s) strict rules of engagement He will bless him (man) in every way.  The Lord sends His prophets to tell salvation seekers the right way to live according to His Law.  He then provides the convert with Holy Spirit power to obey His Law so that He can bless him with good health, physical safety, peace, and plenty of whatever else the obedient servant needs.  Contrarily, gaslighting Satan, through his prophets and demons, tells man that God does not require him to obey His Law unto holiness, that the problems man must repeatedly contend with are simply “the way life is,” and that how one lives one’s life has no effect on what fate hands him.  The fact that religious people suffer exactly like irreligious people is put forth as “proof” that God treats everyone the same regardless of their spiritual status.  All one needs to do is to belong to “the” church and believe what is taught there.

Spiritual gaslighting determines the daily walk of church people whom Satan has deceived (Rev. 12:9) into accepting “the way life is” as the way God wants their lives to be.  When I point out to them God’s version of reality as stated in His Holy Scriptures I am told that His Words are not to be taken literally, that HUMAN EXPERIENCE determines true reality, that NO ONE CAN OBEY GOD’S LAW, THAT HE KNOWS IT, AND THAT HE SENT JESUS TO DIE SO THAT, NO MATTER HOW ONE LIVES ONE’S LIFE, ONE’S SPIRITUAL CONDITION HAS NO EFFECT ON WHAT HIS LIFE IS LIKE.  Satan has convinced church people that believing God’s Word as written is believing a lie.  Ironically, God spoke to this common religious malady in 2 Thessalonians 2:11 where He tells us through the Apostle Paul that if church people refuse to believe His Word and obey it HE (GOD) WILL SEND THEM STRONG DELUSION SO THAT THEY WILL BELIEVE A LIE.”  

Through his spiritual gaslighting system Satan dominates his religious holding company which he and his parishioners call “the church.”  Specifically it is divided into two branches: Catholicism and Protestantism.  This two-headed monster is owned and operated by salvation-seeking man’s most deadly enemy.  It is for this reason that God commands Truth seekers to “Come out of her and be separate, touch not that unclean thing” and to “live lives of holiness in the fear of God.”  THEN, He promises, they will be His children and He will be their Father (2 Cor. 6:14-7:1).  L.J.
