Christianity, Peace And Tranquility: What’s Wrong With This Picture? (Pt. 4)

Holiness and hostility make strange partners, but partners they are.  When looking for examples of that Truth, the prophets, Jesus of Nazareth and the apostles readily come to mind.  For written warnings relative to the subject, the Holy Bible is full of them.  The question is: Why?  The answer is that darkness hates light, wrong hates right, evil hates goodness.  And who is behind this phenomenon? Satan–the self-proclaimed “angel of light.”  And who does he use to plant such hatred toward Biblical Truth in the hearts of religious people?  His devils–fallen angels who present themselves as “ministers of righteousness” (2 Cor. 11:13-15).  These are the “powers of the air” who 1)  afflict the minds of salvation seekers with false “truths,” 2) keep them from studying God’s Word, thereby preventing them from learning His Truth and 3) accuse God’s people of being the enemies of God.  Satan and his evil spirits are constantly at war against God’s people.  The Apostle Paul states this fact plainly in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 where he tells us that, though we walk (live) in the flesh, “we do not war after the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (flesh), but “MIGHTY THROUGH GOD” (Who lives within His saints in the form of His Holy Spirit, which is His power–Lk. 1:35).  It is through the Spirit’s power that the saint can DEFEAT SATAN AND HIS ANGELS who “EXALT THEMSELVES AGAINST THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD.”  WE CAN OVERCOME THEM by “bringing into captivity every thought to (the same level of) obedience (as that) of Christ.”  What did Christ obey that we must obey in order to be victorious over Satan?  “THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD,” which can be found only in the Holy Scriptures.  This is why the “prince and his powers of the air” work tirelessly to prevent God seekers from knowing the “fine print” of God’s Truth (Word–Jn.17:17).  This website/ministry is dedicated to proclaiming God’s “fine print” relative to His “headlines.”  Both must be learned, believed and obeyed in order to be part of God’s Very Elect–the few God seekers who have entered His strait gate and are walking His narrow way to His kingdom (Mat. 7:13,14).  Let us now “Study to show ourselves approved of God” (2 Tim. 2:15) by filling our minds with His “fine print” which tells us how to appropriate that which He has promised in His “headlines.”  The following information is hated by Satan.  He and his fallen angels do everything in their power to prevent the church from learning the following Truths.

Everything–both good and evil–begins in the mind.  Which is why the “powers of the air” attack it with everything that is against “the knowledge of (and about) God.”  God reveals Himself through His Word (Bible)–the Word is God in printed form.  Jesus (the Word–Jn. 1:1-4,14) was and is God’s Word in human form.  Read I Timothy 2:5–note it is “the MAN” Jesus Christ Who is in heaven intervening on behalf of His fellow men at this time.

Jesus was the Word made flesh.  Which is why He could say, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father.”  The same is true concerning God’s Very Elect who have “come to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”  Because they “walk as Jesus walked” (1 Jn. 2:6) and “… overcome as I (Jesus) have overcome (Satan) ….” (Rev. 3:21), when people see them they are seeing the Father.  But we must understand that people did not realize that they were seeing the Father when they saw Jesus.  This included His mother, brothers and sisters.  Read Matthew 12:46-50.  Note whom He identified as His spiritual “brethren.”  It was not His blood kin.

Note that it was the most religious among the Jews who killed Jesus because He told them the Truth.  They killed His apostles and Stephen for the same reason.  Church people would reject all of them today if they appeared and spoke the same Words as they did then.  Led by Satan, they reject “THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD.”

In the 2 Corinthians 10 passage Paul stated that our war with the prince and his powers of the air is fought in the mind (“imaginations”).  We war against the “high (spiritual) things (beings)” that work in the realm of “knowledge” and thought.  The words and acts of the warrior reflect the outcome of that mental war.  Our “walk” announces to the world who is winning it.  Note in verse 5 that WE MUST TAKE CAPTIVE (CONTROL) EVERY THOUGHT JUST AS DID JESUS.  As a man, Jesus of Nazareth had to operate solely on His faith–belief in God’s Word.  We have access to the same level of faith that He had as a man.  We can “have the mind of Christ” (I Cor. 2:5/  Phil. 2:5/ I Pet. 4:1). God is no respecter of persons.  Jesus was a person, like all other persons.  Paul makes this clear in Romans 3:22 where he states that man can can appropriate the “righteousness of God” through the faith OF (not in) Jesus Christ.  Note that this faith is available “to ALL THAT BELIEVE,” for God makes no difference among people.

Faith, like everything else in God’s church, begins small.  Like a muscle, it grows only through work.  In this case, work involves study of the Word of God, for “Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.”  To appropriate the faith OF Christ necessary for the impartation of holiness from on high, one must study God’s Word, believe what is written therein and obey it.  Growth will come.  When Jesus had finished one of His teaching sessions, His disciples asked Him to “… increase our faith.”  Notice what He said.  He compared their faith to a mustard seed, which is the smallest of seeds (Mat. 13:32), then told them to exercise the faith they had, promising them that their faith would grow.  It is only by having the same level of faith as Christ that we can defeat the “prince of the powers of the air” as did the man called Jesus of Nazareth.

Jesus once chastised the disciples for not being able to still a storm on the Sea of Galilee.  He scolded Peter for not being able to walk on water.  He told them that the reason they could not cast a powerful demon out a child was because of “the littleness of your faith.”  Why was their faith little?  They had not been in the source of all faith–the Holy Scriptures.  I have said many times and will say so here: EVERYTHING GOES BACK TO THE WORD.  Just as God does not force into our stomachs the food He provides for us, He does not force His faith-producing Word into our hearts/minds.  It is available.  It is right there on the shelf next to the television,  cell phone, radio, novel, computer, etc. that are the consumers of man’s undivided attention hours each day.  God’s Word, however, captures man’s attention only a few minutes each day, if at all.

The salvation seekers’ enemy knows where to send his “fiery darts” of temptation (Eph. 6:16).  He knows our weak areas and sends his tempting “darts” (thoughts) into those areas.  While in graduate school at the University of Mississippi I heard about a group of people who met on Monday nights to discuss things in the Bible that they were not hearing in church.  When 7:00 the following Monday rolled around I was torn between going to the meeting and doing what I looked forward to doing every Monday night with great zeal–watching NFL Football.  Satan was flinging his fiery darts at me full blast.  I struggled mightily and, because God knew I wanted to know His Truth, He empowered (not forced) me to make what turned out to be one of my life’s most important decisions.  I am who I am and do what I do today because of THAT decision.  From that meeting He quickly led me far beyond where those people were spiritually.  In fact, they would not allow me to attend one of their meetings today if they knew what I believe, teach and practice.

Such is the world of spiritual warfare.  Though church people are zealously religious, they are zealously wrong on every front.  And I prove it to them using their own Bibles.  Which explains why I celebrate the Lord’s weekly Sabbath, Passover, Pentecost, the Feast of Tabernacles, the Day of Atonement and the Last Great Day ALONE WITH THE LORD.  As Jesus said, FEW would follow Him while MANY would succumb to the wiles of the devil and his false prophets.

IF YOU ARE ACCEPTED BY CATHOLICS AND PROTESTANTS YOU ARE NOT A CHILD OF GOD, YOU ARE NOT PART OF HIS CHURCH AND YOU HAVE NOT BEEN CONVERTED.  The sole purpose of Satan’s warfare against God’s people is to deceive them into believing that the above statement is a lie.  And they have been ultimately successful.  As Jesus prophesied, only a few enter His strait gate (church) and walk His narrow way (obedience to His Law) that will lead them to the Kingdom of God.  Satan has lured 99.99% of mankind into his seductive trap.  His war against God will continue as long as His (God’s) remnant of true saints stay true to Him.  Most of those who once knew Him have fallen away and returned to Satan’s Catholic/Protestant Church System.  Others, believing that they have been saved, have joined one of those counterfeit church systems.  In closing I will echo the Words of Jesus: “Beware lest any man deceive you, for many will come in My name …. and will deceive many.”   L.J.
