Biblical Prophecy: The Two-sided Expression Of God’s Love (Pt. 3)

October 21, 2021 by Larry Jaques Leave a Comment

Biblical prophecy is God’s method of showing us in advance the results of how we choose to live our lives–good or bad.  Students of prophecy notice that predictions of negative outcomes are joined by predictions of a positive sort.  Early on in life man gets to choose which prophecy applies to him.  In other words, we pack our own chute, make our own nest, decide our own present and future.  Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 proclaim this Truth with absolute clarity.

In order to understand the ups and downs (mostly downs) of this present life which will determine life in the hereafter we must study the Scriptures that speak of man’s curse-ladened present that will culminate in a final 3 1/2 year reign of terror, destruction and death that the Lord warns will be worse than all of mankind’s past problems combined.  But just as sure as those horrific prophecies have, are and will continue to come to pass, so too are those prophecies that speak of a tiny group of people whom God will protect from the coming ordeal by taking them to “her (the true church’s) place” (Rev. 12:13,14)–a safe space He has preserved for His true church.  These will be individuals who will have already accepted God’s correction, who will have turned away from sin, thereby avoiding the death penalty.  Because of their conversions, God will have no reason to inflict them with the ravages of the Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord.  God never punishes without cause, and then only after having warned the guilty party using various kinds of curses–COVID-19 being a present-day example of such a sin-caused curse.  Sin-caused curses from on high have a long history.

Modern man conducts himself exactly as did men in the days of Noah, about whom Moses wrote, saying: “God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”   He killed them all except Noah and his family.  Watch the news.  Have you ever seen so much evil exhibited by human beings?  COVID-19, invasion of the nation, prices soaring, threats from foreign nations, high unemployment, rising taxes, one coast burning while the other coast floods, extreme cold in the south and extreme heat in the north, ….   These, as Jesus warned, are only the beginnings of sorrows.  Why?  God is cursing man because of individual and national SIN.  He is warning; is anyone hearing His “voice?”

Whether or not anyone responds, I must deliver God’s warning messages which are as unpopular today as they were thousands of years ago.  The vast majority of those who hear them do not heed God’s warnings.  I take heart in the fact that even Jesus Christ’s warnings were rejected.  After all He did for masses of people, only about 120 people were with Him at the end.  I do not know how many, if any, have stopped sinning and are walking with the Lord (1 Jn. 2:6) due to my efforts.  It is not necessary that I know.

However, there is a prophecy that gives me hope, if not for today, then for later.  It is found in Revelation 7.  It follows John’s description of the Great Tribulation: “After this I beheld and lo, a GREAT MULTITUDE, which no man could number, from all nations, kindreds, people and languages stood before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes ….  These are they who CAME OUT OF GREAT TRIBULATION, and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” (vss 9,14).  The entire world will have endured the terrifying time of Satan’s wrath being poured out on mankind.  But a multitude so great it cannot be numbered will COME OUT OF (SURVIVED) THE TRIBULATION.  Having accepted God’s correction during the tribulation they will have repented of their sins and will have spiritually washed their robes in Christ’s blood.  Who are these people?  God tells us what you will not hear in church.

These will be people who are familiar with God’s Truth, having heard or read it over the years leading up to the Great Tribulation but who dismissed His Words of warning spoken and written by His true ministers.  Many, probably most of these will be Catholics and Protestants who chose to follow church doctrine rather than the Word of God.  Today there are approximately 2.5 billion who are seeking it through their churches.  They are, as Jesus warns, seeking in vain. These will include the loved ones of God’s Very Elect who were exposed to the Truth but refused to embrace it.  Prior to the beginning of the Great Tribulation they will have watched God’s people leave to join a tiny cadre of true believers in the place of safety He has prepared for them.  As I have stated, I believe this place to be a mountain range called Petra located in Jordan.  Those left behind will then face the wrath of Satan while waiting for God to rapture them up to heaven.  They will have waited in vain.  Read The Rapture.  Key word–Rapture.

Those “left behind” to face the terror to come will watch in horror as the tragic and horrendous fulfillment of everything they had been warned about from God’s ministers.  Sadly, it will take being plunged into that shocking reality to accept the Truth about God’s prophecies and the warnings (curses) He had sent their way throughout their lives.  Only then will they realize how deadly serious He had been when issuing His warnings and pouring out His curses.  Not knowing God’s “fine print,” such people label His curses as “just the way it is in life.”  Unfortunately, they will not have believed God’s messengers who had told them why the relentless curses had fallen upon them.  Sometimes the best learned lessons are the hardest learned lessons.  Tribulation survivors will not forget that lesson.  An innumerable multitude will not only remember them, they will turn to God in true repentance and will be converted.  God, as promised, will keep them from being hurt any more before Christ returns and brings the mess man has caused to an end.

The above information lets me know that much, probably most of the fruit of this ministry will not be seen until after the return of Jesus Christ.  My great hope is that some day someone will say to me, “You are the reason I am here.”  What more could one ask.

Regular readers of this website receive a realistic picture of the future in terms of world events.  Those who read but do not heed are described in Ezekiel 33:30-32.  Here God is speaking to the holy prophet: “… you are to them like a very lovely song, one who has a pleasant voice and can play well on an instrument: for they hear your words, but do not do them.”

Which choice will you make?  If you read and hear the “voice” of God in these Scripture-based messages, do not ignore His warnings and encouragements.  Those who do will be reminded of them during the Great Tribulation.  As God told Ezekiel: “When this comes to pass, (and it will come to pass), then they will know that a prophet was among them.”  Embrace God’s way now and qualify to rise to meet His Son in the air upon His return, receive salvation and rebirth, then go with Him to Jerusalem where He will establish the Kingdom of God.  Read God’s Very Elect: Future Caretakers of the Universe.  Key word–Caretakers.  Read The Three Resurrections.  Key word–Three.

God’s great love for mankind is revealed in prophecy where He tells His most prized creation to embrace Him and His way of righteousness and holiness which are required in order to receive eternal life as the Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 5:21 and 6:22.  Righteousness and holiness are the opposites of sin.  Therefore they and sin are choices we must make.  Read Sin is a Choice.  Key word–Choice.  L.J.
