The children of Israel have been freed from Egyptian captivity and have arrived at the foot of Mt. Sinai where they have agreed to do whatever the Lord commands of them (Exo. 19:5,8).  Upon hearing their assurances to obey whatever He tells them to do, He proclaims His Ten Commandments (Exo. 20:1-17) which constitutes a “covenant” (Exo. 19: 5) between Him and Israel.  They had agreed to fulfill their part in Exodus 19:8.  Moses was on the mountain 40 days while receiving the Law/covenant from the Lord.  He had explained to the people that God had come to “prove” them, to place the fear of Him in their hearts so that they would obey His commandments (their part of the covenant) and thereby keep sin out of their lives (Exo. 20:20).  The covenant of God followed a simple pattern: the people would obey His Law/commandments/covenant and thereby become His “peculiar treasure” among all the people of the earth.  They would be a “kingdom of priests and a holy nation” (Exo. 19:5,6).

By obeying His Law Israel would become a light to the Gentiles (heathen) to draw them to the Lord (Isa. 42:6; 49:6; 60:3,20).  Note in Isaiah 60:20 that the light the Israelites would shine forth to the Gentiles would be God manifesting Himself in them as they obeyed His Law.  When the Gentiles saw them obeying the Law they would be seeing God shining forth from them.  The Israelites were to be God’s “light of the world.”  Recall that Jesus referred to Himself as “the light of the world” as long as He was in the world (Jn. 8:12).  Following His departure, the disciples were to be the “light of the world” in His stead (Mat. 5:14).  They and those who would become God’s disciples through their ministries would continue to be the light of the world by obeying God’s commandments/Law generation after generation.

God does not change: He commands His saints to be His light today by obeying His Law and thereby keeping sin out of their lives.  In order to be His light one must obey Him, thereby manifesting Him as did Jesus.  Because of His obedience to God’s Law, Jesus could say “They who have seen Me have seen the Father” (as He manifesting Himself through Him) (Jn. 14:9).  He could truthfully make such a statement BECAUSE OF HIS OBEDIENCE TO HIM.

If we call ourselves Christ’s brethren we must follow in His spiritual footsteps.  We must “walk (live) as He walked” as a man (1 Jn. 2:6).  Doing so, and only by doing so, allows us to say what He said: “They who have seen me have seen the Father.”  When people see us they must see God.  This is what the Apostle Paul meant when he wrote that we must grow in holiness until we “come to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Eph. 4:13).   Warning: the world will not see the Father in you just as it did not see the Father in either Jesus or His disciples.  They were hated and rejected because those who saw them did not recognize the Father in them.  The world does not know what the Father “looks” like–How He lives His life– because they do not know His Word which is Him in written form.  Jesus was called “the Word” (Jn. 1:1-4,14).  He was God’s Word manifested in human form.  We must also be God manifested in human form in order to inherit eternal life.

Following the debacle involving the golden calf and the broken commandments, God wrote the Ten Commandments on stone tablets as before.  Moses placed the tablets inside the ark the Lord had instructed him to construct.  Some time later the Almighty made a separate, special covenant with Israel that concerned the keeping of His Sabbaths (Holy Days), including His weekly Sabbath (Exo. 31:12-17).  The keeping of His Sabbaths (Holy Days) was to be a “sign” between God and Israel forever so that they would remember that He was the Lord who sanctified them.  Later Jesus would say while in prayer to the Father: “… sanctify them (the disciples) by Your Truth, Your Word is Truth” (Jn. 17:17).  God sanctifies (sets apart) His Very Elect by His Word/Truth which they obey.

Christ’s Words and His commandments are one in the same as He noted in John 14:15,13 where He tells the disciples: “If you love Me, keep My COMMANDMENTS” (vs 15).  Then He told them: “If a man loves Me he will keep My WORDS” (vs 23).  GOD’S WORDS ARE HIS COMMANDMENTS–HIS LAW, EVERY WORD OF WHICH MAN MUST OBEY: “Man must live by EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD” (Mat. 4:4)  Obedience to His Law (Word) is THE SIGN that one belongs to God.  The Bible from Genesis to Revelation is the word/commandment/Law/covenant of God that must be obeyed.  To qualify for salvation one must wear His “sign.”  His “sign” is the 7th day Sabbath.

The Ten Commandments are a summary of God’s Law.  Every commandment must be obeyed, including #4–the weekly Sabbath commandment–the “sign” of oneness with God.  Which brings us to the next Satanic lie embraced by the counterfeit church–the Sunday Sabbath.

“Because every day belongs to God, He doesn’t care which day we set aside as our Sabbath.”  In Isaiah 58:13 God, Who created both days and weeks, calls the seventh day of each week, “MY HOLY DAY.”  He does not say this about any other day of the week.  He declared THAT day of each week, and only THAT day of each week to be “HOLY” UNTO HIM.  The world cannot see Him in us if we do not declare to be holy whatever He declares to be holy.  He declares that the seventh day of each week is “HOLY.”  He also declares THAT SPECIFIC week day to be HIS PERSONAL “HOLY DAY.”  God mentions His seven day WEEK 28 times in the Holy Scriptures.  He specifically defines the final day of each week as not merely holy, but as His holy day.  We call that day “Saturday.”  He gives explicit instructions as to what to do and not to do on THAT DAY.  He does not give such instructions relative to any other day of the week.  He commands that we “Remember THE Sabbath day and keep IT holy” (Exo. 20:8-11).  Notice that He provides more instructions for THAT commandment than for any other commandment.  Does this not tell us something?  It does if we want to know His Truth.  Some of us do.  However, the other 99.99% of professing Christendom do not.  They break His Law, thereby making themselves workers of iniquity–Lawlessness.  Jesus said that He would reject workers of iniquity on Judgment Day (Mat. 7:23).

I have found that religious man hates the Bible.  He will believe anything and obey any word from any source other than the Bible.  I have had people, including preachers, go to incredible lengths to explain why the Bible is not true.  Why?  Because to admit that God is right is to prove that they are wrong.  Man’s pride will not allow him to admit to being wrong.  “Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall” (Prov. 16:18).  “A man’s pride will bring him low” (Prov. 29:23).  PRIDE IS SELF-DESIGNATED GODSHIP.  PRIDE IS IDOLATRY.  I have heard and read man’s “explanations” of why Saturday is no longer God’s commanded weekly Sabbath.  I call it “spiritual spin” which faithless men conjure up in a vain effort to call God a liar without appearing to do so.  Churchman is wrong–dead wrong–but his pride will not allow him to admit it.  Therefore billions of unwitting Satan worshipers will continue to follow their god ever deeper into his religious abyss known as Catholicism/Protestantism–the two-headed monster which Christ will destroy upon His return to earth.  In that what the prophets wrote was recorded and preserved “for OUR instruction,” meaning those “upon whom the ends of the world have come” (1 Cor. 10:11), we know that the Law is in effect today.  The 4th commandment of that Law requires us to observe the 7th day Sabbath.

We are commanded to REMEMBER THE SABBATH DAY AND KEEP IT HOLY.  Remember what?  THE SABBATH DAY CREATED DURING CREATION WEEK FOR ALL OF MANKIND FOREVER.  “And God saw EVERYTHING THAT HE HAD MADE (INCLUDING THE SABBATH), AND BEHOLD, IT (EVERYTHING HE HAD MADE) WAS VERY GOOD” (Gen. 1:31).  So who told man that he could change God’s “Holy Day” to some other day? The answer, of course, is Satan.  Two of his servants believed him and changed God’s Holy Sabbath Day from Saturday to Sunday.  Roman Emperor Constantine decreed the change for the Roman Empire in 325 A.D.  Pope Sylvester I decreed it for the Catholic Church in 364 A.D. in order to appease her sun worshiping “converts” who paid homage to their god on his day–the “Venerable (holy) Day of the Sun”–Sunday.  When the so-called Protestants left the Catholic Church they took many of her heathen beliefs and customs with them.  The Sunday Sabbath was one of them.  In the eyes of God, Sunday Sabbathers worship the sun.  But it’s all good, they tell us, because they do so in honor of the Biblical God.  And Satan smiles as they march into his citadels of sin every Sun God Day where they hear his false prophets proclaim his perverted gospel.  L.J.
