Thou shalt not kill.

Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Thou shalt not steal.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

“… as He said”–Three Words That Determine Man’s Eternity (Pt. 4)

In this closing post I want to further expose my righteous indignation by mentioning a few things that happen on a daily basis in the lives of people everywhere. People are born, people die. People rise, people fall. People become famous, people become infamous. People are venerated, people are executed. Most of us never do anything to garner attention to ourselves. We just stay the course we have been on since birth. However, there are a few among us who become famous and have millions of followers due to having a skill that large numbers of people value. But do their abilities make these talented people more valuable than the course-staying people who pick up our garbage, patrol our communities, put out our fires and teach us how to read, etc? In the eyes of the world the answer is yes, they are worthy of the admiration and exaltation that is continually heaped upon them. But the thing that bothers me the most is that the vast majority of the star gazers claim to be Christians who are commanded to exalt only the Father and the Son. The irony is that people who would not walk a mile and pay a dollar to see Jesus Himself will travel great distances and pay ridiculous prices to get within a hundred yards of people who  do absolutely nothing for them, don’t know them and don’t want to know them. Try getting physically close to one of them in public and you will find yourself staring at 200 pounds of muscle carrying a gun. Yet they bow at the idol’s throne.

All the while Jesus, Whom they profess to be the Savior of their souls, is only worthy of an hour or so of passive recognition on Satan’s Sabbath as they yawn their way through yet another set of lies voiced by one of Satan’s false prophets. One such prophet/ pastor I know told the men in his congregation that they should feel free to leave the Sunday morning service if they wanted to get home in time for the kickoff.

Everyone knows the names of singers, actors, ball players, etc. Their exploits are common topics of conversation when church people get together. Yet the One Who died for them, Who was beaten beyond recognition, nailed to a cross and had a spear rammed into His heart to speed up the dying process isn’t worth mentioning. For this reason I dread being around self-professed “Christians” whose conversation topics are meaningless to me. God tells us to speak of His Law when we go out and when we come in, when we rise up and when we lie down. The Apostle Paul tells us to think on holy things. But this is boring stuff to 99% of church people who, when God’s name is mentioned suddenly become infatuated with their shoes and watches. If you want to bring a church party to an end, mention Jesus Christ and what He said.

I once had a secretary who confessed that she had driven her daughter and her friends about 200 miles and paid ridiculous amount of money for the privilege of standing on their feet for four hours watching some boys jump around and scream into microphones. My friend and her charges were not alone. Literally thousands of screaming, jerking, writhing idol worshipers had joined them. I read about a family that drove over 2000 miles one way in order to see the current Pope from a distance of approximately 100 yards. But, as the man explained, just to gaze upon him was worth the time, money and fatigue.  I know a man who, along with his mother, flew from Dallas, Texas to Rome, Italy in order to kiss the pope’s ring. I saw a picture of him bowing and kissing the hand of Satan’s #1 apostle. By the way, I also saw a picture of the President of the United States kneeling beside his coffin a few years later. However, we never saw him kneeling in prayer to God.

I hate Catholicism, as well as Protestantism. Yet, I do appreciate people who help their fellow man regardless of their religion. The late Mother Theresa was one such person. She spent her life in service to the down and out of the world. On the other hand, British Princess Diana was little more than a royal whore who was known for her numerous affairs. Her death sent shock waves throughout the world. As her limo-led, dignitary-filled funeral procession made its way down a London street dozens of television cameras panned the thousands of flower-carrying, tear-dabbing mourners who lined the street as far as the eye could see. They had come to decry the loss of a “great woman.”

Compare this spectacle to the funeral procession of Mother Theresa who was jostled along an almost empty street on a cart pulled by a donkey. As I thought about what I had seen, I clearly saw the direction the world, led by my beloved America, was going. But God warned us in His Word that this would happen and what He would do about it. We have sown the wind and now we are reaping the whirlwind.

The human race has become idolaters. We worship and idolize anyone who can sing, act, play with a ball, smear paint on a canvas, etc.  Jesus did none of those things. Which explains why, to billions of church attenders, He is little more than a passing, once-a-week memory from long ago. L.J.
