Armageddon: The Beginning Of The End (Pt. 1)

The word “Armageddon” is often used by both the churched and the unchurched to describe any situation which involves a struggle. Such a contest of wills and/or bodies can involve most any subject–politics, sports, economics, man’s everyday struggles, etc. A rule of thumb is that when David symbolically faces Goliath, “Armageddon” can be used to describe the conflict.

One will note that, regardless of what is involved in the struggle, one word invariabley weaves its way through each and every instance whether it be physical, mental, worldly or spiritual. That word is  “battle.” I recently heard an exasporated politician say about a debate that was taking place in congress: “It’s the battle of Armageddon!” The world, it seems, is being primed for an upcoming battle that will show that the end of the age is drawing nigh. A cursory reading of the Biblical statement has led billions of people to misunderstand what God is saying. I use the passage to make the point that CHURCH PEOPLE TEND TO GET ONLY PARTS OF THE WORD PICTURES GOD HAS PAINTED BY WHICH HE LEADS, GUIDES AND DIRECTS US.

The vast majority of “truths” believed by Catholics and Protestants are not Scriptural, and are in fact Satan’s “tweeking” of God’s Truth. The “Battle of Armageddon” is one of them. We are assured from pulpit and podium that the Biblically significant conflict will take indeed take place on one of history’s most famous battlefields. Historically, the famous valley is where many life and death struggles have resulted in much shedding of blood and ending of life. History’s most famous battle will take place in that famous valley, this time on an international scale. However, the end-time struggle referred to in the Book of Revelation will not take place in that valley, as God explains in His Word for those who care to KEEP READING. And therein lies the problem.  CHURCHMAN REFUSES TO STUDY HIS WORD. Man reads what he wants to be the “truth,” then stops reading. For this reason literally dozens of false doctrines, most of them heathen in origin, are put forth as “Bible Truth” by those who lead the billions that make up the Institutional Church. My advice to those who in fact want to know God’s Truth is to KEEP READING.

My focal Scriptural passage when teaching God’s Truth is Isaiah 28:9-13. Here God speaks through the prophet to those who call themselves by His name. I make the following statement without hesitation: IF ONE IS TO JOIN JESUS CHRIST IN PARADISE ONE MUST STRICTLY FOLLOW THE COMMANDS ISSUED BY THE LORD IN THIS PASSAGE. Isaiah introduces this command by noting that Israel is filled to overflowing with sin and is in need of purging. He notes that “her tables are full of vomit and filthiness.”  Here the prophet is speaking to ancient Israel. However, he is also speaking directly to and about ancient Israel’s modern day descendants–the people of the United States and Britain. Indirectly he is speaking to all of the “Christian nations” scattered throughout the world. Let us see what God is saying to those who claim Him as their Lord.

In verse nine Isaiah asks, “Whom can God teach knowledge, and whom can He make to understand (His) doctrine?” He identifies such true God seekers as: “they who are weaned from the milk and drawn from the breast.” As the Apostle Paul tells us in Hebrews 6:1-6, these are they who have matured in the Lord, have grown to adulthood in the faith and are hungering for strong spiritual meat. He tells us that we graduate from milk to meat by studying God’s Word according to the following formula: “For precept must be upon (follow) precept, precept upon precept, line upon (must follow) line, line upon line, here a little, there a little” (10 Scriptural references). In other words, God commands that we continue to search His Word for the truths concerning a subject. Those Truths are scattered throughout the Scriptures. Then, having found, studied and believed those various Truths, we combine them in order to understand THE Truth concerning that subject. Before leaving the Isaiah passage let me note that he repeats the statement exactly in verse 13. I was recently asked by a former missionary why God makes us search and study so much to learn His ways. I answered that this is the manner in which He separates sheep from goats. My response was not well received by the died-in-the-wool protestant.

If God’s form of Bible study is not utilized by the God seeker, nothing else he does will matter. Therefore I will use a popular Biblical Truth to show what happens when one stops reading and ignores all other Truths regarding a subject. By relying on only one Truth, one does not see the total picture.

Romans 8:1 has been quoted literally thousands of times to “prove” that one need not do “works” in order to inherit eternal life. This verse has been used to “prove” that one need only believe in the Lord Jesus Christ in order to instantly receive salvation: “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.” It is at this point that false prophets stop reading, It is also where their followers leave the track God has placed before them on and turn onto Satan’s track. They do this by failing to read the rest of the sentence: “WHO WALK NOT AFTER THE FLESH, BUT AFTER THE SPIRIT.” Elsewhere (lines and precepts) are told that ONLY those who are IN CHRIST JESUS and are LED BY GOD’S SPIRIT are in fact His children, and that those who are not in Him and who do not obey His Spirit are of the devil. The Words “walk” and “led” are conveniently omitted by false prophets because they require obedience to God’s Word, meaning that one must “walk” (live one’s life–“work”) according to God’s leading through His Holy Spirit. GOD DOES NOT LEAD ONE TO SIN. So-called “Sinners Saved By Grace” are not being led by God through His Spirit, are therefore not IN CHRIST and therefore are IN THE FLESH and are in Satan. This is one of numerous examples of how those whom Satan has lured into confessing Christendom are wallowing in his mire and eating his vomit, all the while “knowing” that they are saved, born again and ready for the rapture. Jesus was right, Satan has deceived the whole world (Rev. 12:9).

It is through such Satanic deception that the church has come to misunderstand the reference to Armageddon mentioned in Revelation 16:13-16. LET US “STUDY TO SHOW OURSELVES APPROVED OF GOD” (2 Tim. 2:15). Let us study according to God’s instructions given in Isaiah 28:9-13. LET US OBEY GOD AND THEREBY LIVE WITH HIM ETERNALLY. Let us understand that the chief deceiver has deceived the whole world, including the church world. Let us also understand that the decieved worldly church rejects, maligns, rebels against, interprets and edits God’s Truth–His Word (Jn. 17:17), and that the vast majority of her beliefs and customs are heathen in origin. Why is she so deceived and misguided? Because she refuses to KEEP READING. L.J.
