Both the Old and the New Testaments contain prophecy. For example, the book of Daniel is tied to Matthew 24 and Revelation in that all three deal with the end of the age. After the Lord showed Daniel several visions concerning the future of man’s military power in the future, He told the prophet to “close up” and “seal” the message “until the time of the end.” That time is now.
What God revealed to Daniel about people living at the end of the age should grab everyone’s attention. Daniel, writing as if he was living in this age, proclaimed the reason for the darkness that will descend over the earth: “We have sinned, and have committed iniquity (Lawlessness), and have done wickedly, and have rebelled against You by departing from Your precepts and judgments. NEITHER HAVE WE HARKENED UNTO YOUR SERVANTS THE PROPHETS ….” (Dan. 9:5,6). The use of the word “neither” means that not listening to the prophets is as serious a sin as iniquity, wickedness and rebellion against God’s precepts and judgments. In verse 11 Daniel adds: “Yes, all Israel has transgressed Your Law by departing from You and not obeying Your voice. Therefore Your curse and Your oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God is upon us because we have sinned against him (Moses).” Ignoring what Moses wrote is a sin. EVERY THING GOD SPOKE AND DANIEL WROTE WAS PROPHECY FOR THE END TIMES–TODAY.
Another clear reference to the fact that ancient prophecy was directed toward the times in which we are living is found in Habakkuk 2:3 where the prophet wrote the following about what he had prophesied: “At the end (of time) it (his prophecy) shall speak” (take place). As stated earlier, prophecy for the future is also found in the New Testament. Let us examine a few examples.
New Testament prophecy is often a repeat of Old Testament prophecy, most of which is for today’s world. For example, in Acts 13:40,41 we find an Old Testament prophecy being applied to a current situation: “Beware, therefore, lest that come upon you which was spoken of by the prophets: ‘Behold , you despisers (of God’s Word), and wonder and perish, for I will work a wonder in your days, a work which you will not believe though a man declare it to you.'” This prophecy was a quote from Habakkuk 1:5.
Modern day prophecy-rejecting church people should bear in mind that the New Testament begins with a prophecy. “And the angel said unto her, ‘Fear not, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a son, and you will call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest, and the Lord God will give unto Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over the House of Jacob (Israel) for ever, and of His kingdom there shall be no end'” (Lk. 1:30-33). Note that Jesus will reign over the House of Israel forever. All who will have Him rule over them must become spiritual Israelites by embracing the Israelites’ God–Jehovah and His Son Adonai (Jesus Christ) and obey their Word–the Holy Bible as they wrote it through the prophets and apostles. To reject any part of it proves that one DESPISES BOTH THE FATHER AND THE SON (Lk. 10:16).
Another New Testament prophecy based on an ancient proclamation is found in Acts 15:13-16 where the Apostle James reminds his fellow ministers that from the beginning of the church age God had allowed Gentiles to become part of the Body of Christ. “And to this agree the words of the prophets as it is written: ‘After this I will return and will build again the tabernacle of David which has fallen down, and I will build again the ruins and will set it up.'” This prophecy is from Amos 9:11. David was “… a man after My own heart.” David’s spiritual descendants are those after God’s own heart–His true church. Actually, Israelites have always welcomed Gentiles into their commonwealth. In Ephesians 2:19-22 we are reminded that it was upon the writings of the Old Testament prophets that Jesus and the apostles built the New Testament Church. We are also reminded that the Old Testament was recorded and preserved for “us”–“those upon whom the end of the world has come”–the Lord’s end-time church ( 1 Cor. 10:11). Let us also understand that Jesus and the apostles taught the ways of God from the Old Testament. The New Testament did not exist during their lifetimes. Paul called the men of Berea “noble” because they “searched THE SCRIPTURES daily” to see if what HE WAS TELLING THEM was true. “The Scriptures” the nobel men searched daily was the Old Testament from which he taught them daily.
In Daniel 9:5,6 the prophet perfectly describes the modern day world, including its institutional church system. His words were definitely for the “time of the end.” As was the book of Revelation. As was Leviticus 26:16 where the Lord states that if we disobey Him we will “sow your (our) seed in vain and your enemy will eat it.” In verse 32 He warns sinning people that their enemies will live among them and will consume what they have produced as they watch them. “The fruit of your land and all your labors will be consumed by foreigners who will oppress you and crush you” (vs 33). Thousands of foreigners are flooding into this country every day. Our tax money goes to house, feed, medicate and clothe them in our presence as we watch the evening news.
In the book of Deuteronomy we find a similar warning to those who do not heed what the prophets and apostles tell us. In 28:21,22 the Lord warns that He will send pestilence (disease epidemics and pandemics) that will cling to those who disobey Him. “The Lord will smite you with consumption (sahepet–wasting disease–cancer, arthritis, AIDS, etc.), and with a fever, and with inflammation, and with extreme burning, and with the sword (we have been at war with Islamic extremists for 20 years), and with blight and mildew (destroys crops).” Verses 27 and 28 tell us: “The Lord will smite you with the botch (boils) of Egypt and the emerods (tumors) and with the scab, and with the itch, of which you cannot be healed. The Lord will smite you with madness (insanity), blindness and astonishment of heart (need “safe spaces”). The medical profession is by far the largest and busiest profession in the civilized world. In verses 43 and 44 God warns that the stranger (non-citizens–Muslims, illegal border crossers from all over the world) within our midst will rise above us and will lord it over us as we go lower and lower (liberal policies are exalting illegal people over U.S. citizens, forcing us to support them). God warns that strangers will be the head and we will be the tail.
Does any of this look familiar? Americans and others are dying from COVID-19 with no end in sight as variants continue to evolve. Our decades-long fight for cures for a variety of diseases is far from over. So-called “Christian nations” are being overrun by heathen hoards whom the liberals promise to feed, clothe, medicate, educate and house at the expense of the nations’ legal citizens. Mental cases run to their safe spaces when a different opinion is expressed. While there they have trouble figuring out which bathroom to use. Sexual deviance is now en vogue.
While girls are paid to have illegitimate children, men are paid not to work, causing the welfare roles to explode. Hundreds of thousands of uneducated and unskilled people are being brought in to take the jobs of the host nation’s citizens. We get out of one war and are immediately involved in another. WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Afghanistan …. What’s next? What is coming after COVID-19? While one part of a nation is in a severe drought, another part is flooding. While one part is being torn up by tornadoes, another part is being hit with hurricanes. Did anyone see this coming? Yes–those who know and believe Bible prophecy. Was anyone ready for what is happening and what is coming? Yes–same people. L.J.
