At this point I will clarify something in order to prevent confusion in the future. This information concerns the subject of time, specifically 1) the time when Jesus –the “Word”–was a spirit God Who, along with the other spirit God, were alone in the universe, and 2) when the Word came to earth as a flesh and blood human being–God’s Son. These two time elements are addressed in John 1:1-4,14 where we are told that THE WORD WAS WITH GOD AND WAS A GOD IN THE BEGINNING. PRIOR TO COMING TO EARTH AS JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE WORD WAS NOT THE OTHER GOD’S SON, BUT WAS RATHER A CO-EQUAL GOD WITH HIM, THOUGH UNDER HIS AUTHORITY. THE WORD BECAME GOD’S SON WHEN HE CAME TO EARTH AS A FLESH AND BLOOD MAN BORN OF A FLESH AND BLOOD WOMAN.
In John 1:1,2 we are told that “In the beginning” the Word/Jesus Christ was a God, meaning that He was composed totally of spirit. He remained in spirit form along with the other God until coming to earth as the Son of the other God, Who, upon His birth, became His Father and was thereafter addressed as such by the Son (Heb. 5:5). In 1 John 5:9 we read that God has testified (born witness) that the flesh and blood man known as Jesus of Nazareth is His Son. In verse 10 John says that anyone who does not believe God’s witness (that the flesh and blood man Jesus is His Son) accuses God of lying. The point being that if one claims to believe that Jesus was the human-born Son of God, then one must believe what He said as recorded in the Holy Scriptures. Therefore, when one rejects any of Christ’s Words, he accuses His Father of lying in that He (the Father) has born witness to Jesus being His Son who speaks His (the Father’s) Words (Jn. 12:44-50). One Who lies cannot be God, for God cannot lie. To deny any Word in the Holy Scriptures is to deny both Father and Son their respective Godships–to deny Their names (Rev. 3:8). Therefore, God cannot be the Father, nor Jesus the Savior of one who denies Their Word. The Institutional Church denies most of Their Word.
It must be understood that there are two forces in the world–God and Satan–and that when one thinks, acts or speaks he/she is doing so under the influence of one of those entities. In this age God and Satan use their respective spirits through which to communicate with man. Satan’s self-appointed task is to deceive church people into believing that his spiritual voice–a demon–is God’s spiritual voice–the Holy Spirit. Recall that Peter believed that he was speaking from God when he rebuked Jesus for telling of His soon-coming death (Mat. 16:21-23). Recall also that Peter did speak from God when He stated that Jesus was God’s Son (Mat. 16:16,17). Because, like Peter, church people are prone to mistake Satan’s voice for God’s voice, the Lord instructed John to warn those in His church not to automatically believe what their ministers told them, but to “test the spirit” of each one to determine if the spiritual voice he is repeating is from God or from the devil. By comparing the speaker’s words to God’s Words one can determine whose words he is speaking (1 Jn. 4:1-3). Using this Biblical test we find that the vast majority of those claiming to be chosen, prepared and sent by the Biblical God have been neither chosen, prepared nor sent by Him, though they all “know” they are His messengers. See All That Glitters. PLEASE TEST THE “VOICE” OF THIS WRITER. To be continued. L.J.
